Nestled close to the Old City, the Notre Dame Guest House receives high marks for its prime location and religious, historic charm that captivates a respectful clientele. Guests frequently commend the rooftop views and are generally pleased with the hotel's amenities, including the dining options and the on-site chapel, although the addition of a pool and improved room features have been suggested. While the rooms earn praise for their cleanliness and comfort, some reviewers find them to be somewhat basic. The attentive service and affordable dining, especially the house wines, are appreciated, yet the value proposition is sometimes questioned due to extra charges and variability in service quality.

I actually wanted to book more nights, but the hotel was booked solid. The staff is very well trained in hospitality and were very helpful. The rooms are simple and small, but they have everything you need including a bottle of water and real yummy little treat for you upon arrival. The building is fascinating, a bit of maze to get around in. The roof is really cool, you can go to the top and get some nice panoramas of the city.

Be sure to try the ice cream, all the food was very good. We came here with a pilgrimage group of 40 people. We never had any difficulty in the restaurant, or with how they handled our group. Everything went very smoothly.

The chapel is lovely, the lobby area comfortable, and the cheese and wine bar is very good. The view from the observation deck is also a nice Option for your stay.

The staff is extremely helpful! Very very helpful when choosing where to walk, where to shop, and with giving and helpful information.

The only disappointment in our stay was our room. The beds were married couple are not ideal. We made it work, but we would’ve preferred a full size bed versus two twins. The bathroom is small but serviceable the closets are good, however, there needs to be more suitcase space. Our pilgrimage group assigned our rooms, there are likely bigger or nicer rooms available that we were not told about.

Overall I suggest you stay in this place. Just check on your room before booking.

The proximity of this hotel to or Jerusalem is literally across the street from the new gate. The convenience and cleanliness and spiritual aspect of the Notre Dame help solidify an extremely positive experience for our pilgrimage to the holy land. We attended mass in the chapel and the priest was very enlightening and it felt he was consumed by the passion of Christ

Fantastic hotel of Western standard with Western food. Lovely restaurants and particularly the rooftop restaurant with views over Jerusalem. We had spacious though basic room, with a large balcony. A lot of holy statues etc but this is to be expected in a hotel that attracts many pilgrims. We were on honeymoon and found this to be an ideal base. The tours stopped here and we were able to walk across into the Old Town through the New Gate. We felt extremely safe in this hotel complex and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Jerusalem. We had an issue on arrival in that we had prepaid on booking.com but reception staff did not have a record of this and asked us to pay again which we were naturally not prepared to do. This significantly delayed our checkin after a long flight but it was ultimately dealt with. We would certainly return.

I stayed at the Notre Dame Guest House for 2 Nights from Feb. 4 to Feb. 5, 2020 with my friends while we were taking pilgrimage trip to the Holy Land, Israel.
It was a good chance for me to stay at Notre Dame Guest House to stay for 2 Nights. The Guest House was enough to satisfy myself because of its external and internal circumstances.
However, I felt that all the facilities (such as room appliances and bath room facilities) of the Guest House were a little bit old fashioned. Therefore I would like kindly request the Guest House to develop and improve them so that the guests feel convenient and comfortable.
Thanks and Regards,

The Location could not be better. However, the rooms as shown on the Website are not as they are in reality. They show the luxury suites which are usually held for dignitaries. Rooms are sparse, with a single bed, chair, table and bedside cabinet. No television. The breakfast and dinner Buffet are good for the price. The room charges are way too high for many Pilgrims.
There is a high end dinning room on the top floor with excellent views of the Old City; however, prices are steep and attitude of Staff high. We decided we could have a better meal for the same price elsewhere.

The location is perfect, and the exterior of the building is beautiful. Our 3rd floor room was clean but quite austere, reminding me of a college dorm. There is one very small elevator to service an entire wing of the building (maximum 4 people with minimal luggage). Other highlights include 2 twin beds pushed together (rather than a double, queen, or king), no air conditioning (fan only), 1 pillow per bed, and water and toiletries (including soap) on the first day only (we stayed 5 days). Shampoo, lotion, and body wash only - no conditioner, so be sure to bring your own. Some outlets were non-functional. Shower is extremely small, bathroom lighting is poor. Fortunately, we aren’t TV watchers, because there wasn’t one. There was no iron and board, but you could go to an “ironing room” if needed. Daily maid service was very limited. Overall, we’ve had better service and accommodations at budget chains.

This is a great location for being close to the Old City. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There is a neat overlook on the roof and the Cheese & Wine Restaurant is outstanding. My only complaint was a fire alarm went off at around 11PM and no staff were there assisting until I went to the guard shack to get the guard moving. He told me to go back to my room, but you could hear the ear piercing alarms going. Also note, there is not a TV in the room. I didn’t need it, but I know some travelers like to have one.

The Notre Dame Guest House is a short walk from New Gate and the Christian quarter of Jerusalem, with easy access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We visited as part of a Catholic pilgrimage to the Holy Land. The food was excellent, and the house wines are quite affordable at $20/bottle. The restaurant service was unfailingly good. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

The hotel is located in the center of Jerusalem, right in front of the New Gate and has its own parking so we didn't need to take a car or taxi to get to the Old City. It was very convenient. My special thanks to the staff who were very helpful and resolved my case where I had booked one room but arrived unexpectedly with my parents and they found the best rooms close to each other at the best price which suited us perfectly. Many thanks again, Murad, Susie and others. The food was very tasty - both the included breakfasts and the Allegro restaurant. The cleaning service was just fine and invisible. Also we had a kettle in the room, a set of different teas and coffees, a coffee machine with capsules and a mini-fridge. It was very unexpected and pleasant. So I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
See you soon, Norte Dame Guest House!

Check in hotel on Friday Sabbath... is the front desk reception operate as usual on Sabbath? Thanks!
Answer from Kathryn Snyder
Locust Grove, Virginia4 contributions
My guess is that they are have the usual functioning on the sabbath. The ND guest house altered the dining room hours a little on Easter, so they still did an impressive job taking care of guests on the holiest if Catholic holidays. They should do a wonderful job for other holy days. Enjoy your stay!
