I received the worst service from a 5 star hotel in my entire life and this was probably the worst Kempinski Hotel I've ever been to. I want to give 1 star but instead I give 2 stars because the doorman is super friendly (he recognized us and greeted us personally) and literally was the best thing out of my experience during my stay. The food was so-so. The housekeeping is terrible. First, when we entered the room, there's an empty Evian water on the small space by the window opening that the housekeeping missed cleaning. Then I found out that the reed diffuser bottle in the bathroom was empty. I highlighted it to the housekeeping TWICE but until we checked out from the hotel, they never refill it. One day they left towels and pillowcases on the sofa. Another day they left the dirty towels in the bath tub. And they call themselves a 5 star hotel? It's giving Kempinski a really bad name.

Hotel's Favourite
We recently stayed at the Kempinski Tel Aviv. It has some fabulous features and a few small issues. Brand new hotel, so all is clean and new. Fabulous location at the beach and easy walks to many restaurants, shops, Carmel Market and other parts of Tel Aviv of interest. Door staff and reception very professional. There is actually a doorman in a top hat...kind of fun! They are very welcoming. Lobby is beautiful with the most gorgeous flowers. It is a bit of a scene at the lobby lounge and bar. We were in a horizon executive suite with an adjoining sea front horizon room. Views were gorgeous from both rooms. The suite provided city and full sea views which are spectacular. We experienced the most gorgeous sunsets from our room and from the Horizon Lounge on the 22nd floor. The suite and the sea front room were both spacious and comfortable. Nice linens and very nice towels. A couple of issues with the rooms...no double sink in the suite (this really should be standard at this price point). No privacy from the toilet. The toilet paper and tissues are the quality of sandpaper. Would expect better quality paper products at this price point. The toilet is enclosed in glass, but what's the point if it's clear glass? Same for the shower. If the toilet is to be enclosed in it's own room, then it should provide privacy. In the sea front room the toilet was enclosed in frosted glass...that makes more sense, but again, the shower...all clear glass. Not great for privacy. There also were no hooks in the bathroom and as all the doors were floor to ceiling, no where to even throw a towel over to dry. As ur at the beach, it would make sense to have place in the bathroom to hang a wet bathing suit. Again, no where to hang a robe if you've gone to the spa, etc. The smoke detectors in the room have the brightest flashing white/green light we have ever seen. In the sea front room the detector is literally right over the bed and when all the lights are out, if you're not exhausted you are literally blinded by this light. In the suite, there was a smaller smoke detector over the bed, so the light was not as bothersome. There were three smoke detectors flashing light in the suite, luckily for us, the brightest one is in the living space and in the suite you could close off the sleeping area with sliding doors, otherwise I'm not sure we would have gotten sleep as a flashing light all night long is not conducive to good sleep. Very nice to have access to the lounge on 22. It's a quiet space with gorgeous views. Both non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and snacks are available. We had our breakfasts up there. The breakfast buffet is more elaborate downstairs, but we found what was offered upstairs to be sufficient to start the day and we were happy to avoid any crowds downstairs. The hotel advertises availability of food in the lounge 24/7, but actually at certain times of day, food is not available. They clean up the dinner snacks by 8pm and one morning the yogurt and milk wasn't stocked and one of the coffee makers was not operating. The lounge is all self serve. Bell staff very attentive, efficient and respectful. We had dinner our last night at the hotel's lobby restaurant. The view of the beach from the outdoor patio was a bit obstructed, but just nice to sit outside. The food was quite good. Our server was sweet, pleasant and fairly knowledgeable about the offerings. A green salad was very fresh and properly dressed. A yellowtail crudo with an apricot sauce was tasty and fresh. A grilled grouper turned out to be quite a small portion, but was well prepared and tasty. The grilled whole snapper, a special that evening was quality and fresh, but a bit overcooked and dry. Service, however was a bit uneven. There were many servers milling about, but when you needed someone, no one seemed to be paying attention or checking in and it was a bit difficult to flag someone down. Server neglected to bring lemon for the fish. It took several requests over about 15-20 mins to actually get some lemon. One thing that I found a bit disconcerting was that a security guard was either standing on the steps from the patio to the street or sitting at what appeared to be a picnic type table in the midst of the restaurant's patio. Would be more appropriate to have some type of hostess stand or booth for security. We did not get a chance to use the pool on the 5th floor. It looks stunning with fantastic views of the beach and promenade. The restroom off the lounge area in the lobby could be better maintained. The lobby lounge is very busy, so I'm sure that bathroom gets lots of use. It also serves as the restroom for the restaurant. When I was in it it was lacking toilet paper, hand towels and it was just kind of dirty. Management needs to do a better job of keeping up with that. But despite all it's foibles, which we hope they will improve, when we return to Tel Aviv we will stay at the Kempinski. The location and views are incredible.

This is the worse hotel experience in my life. Upon arrival, the taxi was not allowed in the driveway and we had to push our luggage to the entrance. Upon checking in although we did not prepay for the room, we were told that we had to pay in full for the whole stay in advance rather than putting a block on the card and pay upon checkout as is customary as we could leave without paying implying that we could potentially be thieves! They said it was hotel policy so I paid which is nowhere to be seen and then we were given the worse room on the sixth floor. This is an $800 room hotel with extremely bad service, where not even the TV was working properly. This hotel is not new any more and it is unacceptable for such a price not to have a proper working room, proper service in all areas, and a bellman to greet you and a front desk to welcome you rather than treat you like a thief. To add to this, amenities are not even refilled in the room, evening turndown service is inexistent. This resembles more like a cheap hotel rather than a luxury hotel which it is not. Refrain from staying there!

The family just spent 3 nights at this beautiful hotel, Everything was first class. We had the basic rooms that were anything but basic. The bathroom had very plush towels and Molton Brown shampoo and shower Gel. Virtually all rooms have a view over the sea. The breakfast was incredible even by Israeli standards. Service was efficient and any questions or issues were handled promptly. The pool was crowded on a Saturday but we still were able to find deck chairs. No complaints at all.

Incredible but true. We arrive from abroad to do the check-in. We had booked a suite costing 1600 dollars a night for 3 nights. After trying several different credit cards from different banks, the hotel employees do not find any solution and the only suggestion is that we leave the hotel! We call our bank who confirms that there is no problem with our credit card… the problem is therefore with the hotel check-in system! We are therefore back on the street at 9 pm with our luggage having to find another place to stay!!! Nobody came, no supervisor, noone tried to stop us from leaving the hotel! The only person showing any concern was the person carrying our luggage. 😡😡😡 Don t go to this hotel No process No manager They don t care about « their client ». Inacceptable

I highly recommend you to spend your next vacation in The David Kempinski Tel Aviv Hotel. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, on the beautiful beach and in a walking distance from excellent restaurants and many other attractions. The hotel is new and the rooms are extremely luxurious and convenient; soft bedsheets, perfect towels and extremely strong water pressure in the shower. The infinity pool is the perfect place to relax and the service all around the hotel is extremely good. The hotel and its staff will do everything to make your vacation unforgettable and good.

Sadly, service isn't up to expectations. And, balconies would be nice. The location is good and the building is nice. For the market they're targeting it just misses the mark. The excuse that comes back is that they are just recently opened so not quite up to snuff yet. I sincerely hope they will improve with time.

There are not enough words to describe this incredible hotel. Cannot fault it on anything. The position is wonderful and the beauty of the hotel is unparalleled. Excellent service at all times and the most delicious food. The staff will always go out of their way to assist and this is by far the best hotel I have stayed at- and I have stayed at many.
