hostel has an excellent location, the room was less noisy than I expected, small but with a good bed and a usable bathroom w shower. Friendly staff. If you're looking for a good value sleeping option in central TLV this deserves a recommendation.

My husband and I had some misgivings when we first arrived at The Gordon Inn, not having stayed at a hostel/guest house/hotel before, but they were quickly dispelled by the amazingly friendly staff, volunteers and other guests. We stayed there 3 times during our trip to Israel and looked forward to walking through the door each time we returned to Tel Aviv. We did a lot of touring and were able to leave our luggage in a lockup, stopping by for a coffee, a visit and to get clean clothes for our next excursion. Keep in mind that The Gordon is in Old Tel Aviv, and laws do not allow them to make certain changes to the building. Many of the rooms are basic, with a small fridge, comfortable beds, plugs for your electronics and a cupboard for clothes. For the females, lots of mirrors. There is a large variety of rooms from private rooms with private bath (better than basic) to private rooms with shared bath to dorms. Linens and towels are provided. There are soap dispensers in the toilet and shower areas. There's something for every budget. We stayed in 3 different rooms and all were quiet. The lobby, which consists of a dining area and kitchen for use of guests was convenient, offering a place to eat or hang out with free wi-fi, coffee, tea, juice all day and evening. Breakfast was an amazing selection of sweet buns, whole grain buns, yogurt, cereal, milk, levana cheese, etc. Smokers can sit and socialize on a balcony outside the lobby. The location is fantastic! Two blocks to the beach and promenade, bus stops to everywhere less than half a block away; drugstores and supermarkets on every block; cafes, restaurants, every kind of store you could want within 2 blocks. The #4 sheroot runs on Shabbat. And the best falafel in Tel Aviv is a five minute walk away at Dizengoff and Frischman Sts. Now that we have discovered it, we definitely will stay at The Gordon on our next trip to Israel.

An older building & furniture combined with less-than excellent cleaning just felt shabby. The two best things for me: --great location, maybe two block from the beach and surrounded by cafes --comfy mattress & bedding [though it might vary by room] The staff was decent and fairly helpful. Breakfast was included in the price [around 90 shekels], but it wasn't that great. A mediocre hostel--I would look for somewhere else, next time.

Stayed in this hostel during the long weekend [Friday - Sunday] in one of the dorm rooms on the first floor. With a hindsight, I would recommend choosing room with less beds, as it can get noisy with people coming in and out at various times during the night. A lot of flights arrive to or leave from Tel Aviv in the early morning hours, so there'll be some foot traffic. Location is excellent for the nearby Gordon beach, only few minutes walk away. There are also several buses and mini-buses going through the street, although I mainly walked. Staff was very helpful if one had any queries - and, as most Israelis, spoke very good English.

I stayed here for 3 days in July. The hotel staff was helpful, the rooms and common areas/shared baths were clean, the were decent. I would note that our room on the 3rd floor (31) never really got very cool-when getting decent AC can be very useful in the heat of the Israelie summer. You also need to remind the hostel management to turn the AC on in the common room. The breakfast was large and many options for the typical Isrealie breakfast, 2 humus, 3-4 types of bread, cooked egg-stew, lots of veggies. The place was mostly quiet but everynight some group when out the bars. You are 2 blocks from the beach, lots of restaurants nearby, the street was not very noisy. The wifi is free but for some reason it worked for my kids smart phones but only worked 1 of 3 days for my computer- even when other computers right next to me were on the internet. Lots of free wifi in most coffeeplaces
