The Norman was a little piece of heaven. We arrived to beautiful October warmth. Our suite was beautiful. The rooftop pool was small but it wasn't busy at all. All the food at the restaurant beyond delicious. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. Only minus in our garden suite, as the hotel is in an old building, the shower cabin must've been the smallest you've ever seen. You actually couldn't shower properly without flooding the bathroom floor. It was a pity as the room itself was so nice. I did give them feedabck. We stayed with family and friends travelling from various places and having breakfast, lunch, pool and a bar all under one roof, was very convenient. If you are with very small children, you might want to stay closer to the beach. But I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here for 4 nights in July 2022. The service was exemplary from start to finish. From valet to breakfast staff, housekeeping, bar staff, lovely pool staff and front desk - everyone was super polite and helpful. Everything we asked for was greeted with a “yes” (except a request for a late check out as they had someone else coming in to our room). The rooms are contemporary and chic. The beds and pillows super comfortable. The lighting could be brighter. A challenge for anyone putting on their make up. We didn’t get a chance to eat in the restaurant for dinner but breakfast was lovely. It’s a la carte and I do love a buffet but they will offer things off menu if they have it. The bar is great with delicious cocktails. The whole hotel has a cool snd understated vibe. The best thing is the location. Just minutes to walk to trendy Neve Tzedek with its amazing restaurants, bars and boutiques. It’s also close to walk to Carmel market and just 10-15 mins walk to the beach although in the heat this can feel like a long way. There is a nice pool roof terrace not big but we didn’t have problems finding beds. If your intention is to heat the beach most days then I’d say stay in one or the many beach hotels but otherwise this is a fantastic place to stay.

The Rooftop restaurant was once the place to be and food was absolutely fantastic . As times goes bye the Rooftop is under construction (whatever that means) The Food , served in the Garden but shockingly lousy in all ways. Sorry to say so.

Came to stay with big expectations but the hotel kept disappointing time after time. Few examples - The receptionist was clueless about charges and prices and rude, the rooms are noisy - from outside buildings that are just on top of each other, and from corridor and internal echo. You sit in the room and hear the conversation in the lobby! Poorly designed! The rooms are tiny compared to what you get at other five star hotels in TA, the closet is tiny and the shower room is claustrophobic! Overrated, you are better off staying at the Setai !

Response from The Norman, General Manager at The Norman Tel Aviv
Responded 17 Jun 2022
Dear H6709AZjonathank Thank you for your feedback. I sincerely apologize that your stay was so disappointing and I, myself, am disappointed that we failed to come anywhere near your expectations of a perfect stay at The Norman. I would greatly appreciate speaking to you personally to apologize and to hear further details of any rudeness that you encountered as this is not The Norman way and totally unacceptable to me. If you have time, please email me with a phone number and a convenient time that I can call you. Yliberman@thenorman.com. Regarding noise and room size, I think it’s important to point out on this forum that The Norman is housed in a restored 1920s listed Modernist building, which, like many city center hotels of architectural note worldwide, means we are not afforded the space of larger purpose built chain hotels in less central parts of the city. The majority of our guests choose our central location in a quiet square ( compared to the rest of Tel Aviv) for its historical value , high-end product & design details, excellent restaurant and bar,our art focus and charming city center gardens as a preference. The lively atmosphere with hotel guests and outside guests enjoying our bar, restaurant and Al Fresco dining spaces also means that occasionally there is some extra noise coming from common areas. Lastly, our location being off Rothschild Boulevard in such a buzzing city means that general city noise of restaurants and nearby buildings is unavoidable , just as it is in all city centers. Lastly, there are in fact 9 room and suites types which offer very spacious accommodation should you ever consider another stay that I will do my best to make sure is perfect next time. I very much hope I have the opportunity to speak with you soon and again apologize for your stay being flawed. Yours sincerely Yaron Liberman General Manager

I spent a few nights at the Norman. Fantastic hotel, good service (can be improved a lot), many good and impressive rooms (but avoid 108!!!), and the best, most dedicated General Manager (Yaron Liberman) in the industry I have met in TEL AVIV. The large rooms are fantastic. But some of them lack the necessary and expected noise isolation you would expect from an hotel this category. Hope they can fix this which shall be simple. Breakfast is fantastic, great ingredients, and in a super setting sitting outside. The service is nice but EXTREMELY slow. Not for a rush. The ALENA restaurant is one of the best in TEL AVIV. Worth visiting. The work the two chefs have achieved with their menu delivers a culinary experience. And a superb list of wines.

The Norman is an oasis of sophisticated luxury, elegance, and truly exceptional service with attention to detail that rivals that of any fine hotel in Asia. From the bellmen upon arrival to the front desk to the concierge, to the restaurant staff to the bar tenders to the pool staff to the housekeepers, there is a pervasive welcoming vibe at all times. An aura of “Welcome to your home away from home” and “What can we do to make your stay more enjoyable?” but conveyed by all in a seemingly effortless and second-nature way with an understated formality, but without any pretentiousness. The Grand Deluxe Double room is spacious, well-appointed with a heavenly comfortable bed and linens, and is spotless, thanks not only to design but also to a fabulous housekeeping staff. Every detail has been thought out to the “N-th” degree. From the enormous square sleeping pillow with laundered pillow cases behind the king size pillow (NB, not the nasty, contaminated decorative cloth pillows from virtually every other hotel that need to be immediately thrown on the floor); to the tiny clear rounded moulding under the sliding shower door to stop water from leaking onto the bathroom floor; to the long, toiletry pullout drawers under each sink in the double vanity; to the thermostat that activates with the wave of a hand, to the soft touch electronic light switches. The General Manager, Yaron Liberman, is omnipresent with a watchful but unobtrusive eye, always ready to personally tend to any need. His business card has his mobile number, although there is never a need to use it because in his rare absence, all hotel staff act as a General Manager, owner, and guest – always with a genuine smile and at unparalleled levels. The Norman is a must if you travel to Tel Aviv!

We stayed here for a few nights, first at the very beginning of our trip, and then at the very end of our trip. On the first visit, we had a room in the adjoining building, which is not as convenient as a room in the "main" building where reception and dining / breakfast / restaurant are. To access the adjoining building, you have to walk down a series of steps, cross a small courtyard, and then use your key to access the building. A bit of a hassle to be sure, but not insurmountable. The front desk staff was very accommodating and professional on both checkins and both checkouts. The buffet breakfast is very good and the servers will provide items from the menu. On our second visit, we stayed in the "main" building (as requested) and we enjoyed that room. However, in both rooms, the TV kept "buffering", i.e., timing out periodically. For the amount of money paid, I believe The Norman could ensure that the TVs work properly.
