It could be a bit surprising, but there aren't many hotels in the area of Jerash. Even though it's one of the most interesting turist sites in Jordan, there could be some problems with accomodation, because many tourists arrive here only during one-day trips from the capital, Amman. No wonder the quality/price ratio isn't great as for Jordanian standards. The...

This place is quite souless and feels like an old fashioned youth hostel. BUT it has nice views esp if you have a room with a balcony. The pool is really welcome after a hot day exploring Jerash and Ajloun. The rooms were clean enough and the food was fine. The location is quite isolated but the views are nice...

Whatever you do do not try to find this hotel after dark. It is not well marked and in the middle of nowhere, however one of the few hotels around if you want to see the ruins at Jerash. We asked the Jordanian police where it was and they didn't even know. They ended up calling their commanding officer who...

The Olive Branch Resort is quite a distance outside Jerash, but that is probably not a bad thing: the town (other than the Roman ruins) is rather run down. While the hotel is a little rough round the edges, the views from the rooms over the countryside are absolutely amazing: the hotel is at the top of a hill and...

First I'll give the GPS position in both forms. After several nights at home before departing for Jordan finally found the location by studying Google Earth [the download version not Google Maps]. The hotels web site map is too small but they did send me in Arabic the directions to give anybody who we asked and in return I sent...

In a lovely location but not easy to find - try and arrive while it is still bright. The staff are pretty friendly but there were only a few other travellers here when we stayed. Bath/shower was in the bedroom (not the bathroom) - worth noting if you're not travelling with a partner! Despite all the Visa signs and a...

We read this LP nice description and headed there, as in Jerash there is not much options. After the sunset it is very hard to find, even the policemen didn't know what we are talking about. When we arrived there was only one other room occupied (and the hotel is quite big), and it was low season, but they have...

My wife and I stayed at the Olive Branch on Oct. 16 and 17. 2009 We just got back from Jordan. The Olive Branch is a family run resort located high above Jerash in a park like setting. The hotel is a bit run down in places but overall it's a nice quiet clean place to rest and get some...

There is much unrealised potential here. The hotel is in a really lovely location but is a bit run down and just needs some TLC. The few staff that were around were really very friendly and helpful and helped me with my Arabic, one particularly helpful guy spent ages decanting a cracked bottle of wine into another bottle for me...

The Olive Branch is in a nice setting with lovely views. It is quite isolated from the town center but there's not much even in town but the ruins. There weren't very many people staying there and it seemed like a bit of a ghost town. Our room was big and clean but I found it odd that the shower...
