The cheap price is pretty much everything good to be said about Mashhad Hostel. We were in a tiny room with insufficient air conditioning. Toilet facilities meager and the staff were a bit short of words. Also, the street is a super uninspiring drag of...More
Mashhad was the cheapest Iranian hotel we stayed at - this is something, considering that we spent 34 days traveling through Iran and stayed at more than 12 hotels and guesthouses. 14 USD is really cheap for a double private room with shared bathroom in...More
Rooms and services are normal. Maybe can get this kind of rooms with more reasonable prices in other hotels. It's just 2 minutes on walk far from old US embassy in Tehran. Staff is good and can serve your food in room.

As far as I know it is not possible to book this hostel online or by phone. They have no email. I stayed there in November 2016 and January 2017 for a number of weeks. It was never full. Iran is still very much a cash economy. Once you have paid, you know for sure you can stay. Just go there. The earlier in the day the better. Just in case: there is another cheap hostel across Amir Kabir street in a side alley. It is called Khazar Sea, but watch your belongings there.
