This hotel is set in a restored old house of Beirut's Christian quarter. While the surroundings steal from Villa Clara's beauty, it is within walking distance from bars, restaurants, galleries and lovely artisan shops. While the house is gorgeous, with tall 4 m high ceilings, an exquisite art and furniture collection, the absolute best are Marie-Helene and Olivier. Staying at...

There is so much to say - I so wanted to love Villa Clara as I really like the idea of a hotel such as this one - one that is run by locals in a historic home that they have preserved. But, really had issues.... - The room layout is weird. The bathroom is very much part of the...

Set in a classic Lebanese home from the early 20th century, Olivier and Marie-Helene have graciously and lovingly restored this charming villa into a beautiful, but also laid back, art-focused, slightly hipsterish, yet exceedingly authentic place for a visit in Beirut. The staff are extremely friendly and personable and the restaurant makes terrific food (breakfast is recommended). Located in the...

I had the pleasure to stay at Villa Clara, Beirut for 3 nights. The owners Marie-Hélène and Olivier (also chef) were super hospitable and really looked after me over the few days. I felt very welcome from the moment I stepped through the door on day one. The building is amazing with high ceilings, with all original features along with...

We have been there for the dinner of Valentines. I was impressed to see such a gem in Beirut. I can honestly say that this place is the most beautiful one in Lebanon. It made me feel as if i am in Paris or elsewhere. The ambience was like nowhere else very charming and very romantic. The recommendation of the...

Villa Clara was my greatest experience in Beirut. I was greeted by the two owners Olivier and Marie-Heleine at my arrival, who gave me a quick lesson about the history of the beautiful 2 stories house they take care of and of its neighborhood, and were on the premises all day and were always glad to get out of their...

Villa Clara must be precisely the kind of place people have in mind when they call Beirut the Paris of the East. This 7-room boutique hotel is glamorous in the most comfortable, understated way and has the best French cooking this side of the Mediterranean. Owners Marie-Helene and Olivier - chic, interesting and well traveled - have a unique way...

We, and our two young daughters, spent three glorious days and nights at Villa Clara. Within hours it had become a home away from home. The place oozes with charm and character. The reception/dining/bar area is replete with stylish and whimsical décor, not to mention fresh flowers everywhere. Our room was beautifully appointed and the hotel found a way to...

This boutiqe 7-rooms hotel situated in the most interesting part of Beirut is my definitive favourite in Beirut. Stayed at Kempinsky, Jumeirah, Four seasons, One&Only ie and love hotels. This is my absolute best experience. The owner and her husband takes fantastic care of you. A previous three star Michelin chef making the most amazing dinners. The atmosphere unique, I...

A hotel with 7 rooms only, very individual. Everything here is linked to art! It is not a museum, it is sort of living gallery. The hotel has a restaurant with fabulous food. Amazing. I was thrilled by the breakfast. Home-made bread and yoghurt!
