The staff at the hotel were amazingly friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a variety of food, all very delicious. I got to taste Arabian food - very nice salads. I normally eat yogurt with breakfast which wasn’t on display but when I asked they provided a bowlful everyday - thank you for the personal care😀. The manager Mr Nirmala Nathan was a superb host who made sure all the customers were taken care of.
The room was in a clean condition with linen changed everyday and tea & coffee replenished.
The only minus is the condition of the bathroom: I didn’t mind the chipped bath & sink but the toilet bowl had black stain at the bottom. This was very off putting and I avoided the bathroom as much as I could. I’m sure if I had informed reception about it, they would have done taken care of it but as I was only staying 3 nights, I didn’t want to make a fuss.
Overall very good experience. The staff are super polite, always smiling and helpful.

To preface this, this is not my first time in Qatar so I am both shocked and disappointed at the standard I encountered at this hotel. The pictures on the website are either old or misleading. The maintenance is lacking and the cleanliness isn’t at an acceptable level for a 5 star hotel. My room had a faulty air conditioner that made an unpleasant loud noise. My children’s room had a shower that wouldn’t drain so it flooded the bathroom. The ceramic furnishing was also broken. The breakfast didn’t have many options and I don’t think the baked goods (croissants, donuts, etc) were fresh. There was flies and mosquitoes in the breakfast hall and I notified the staff of this but nothing was done. The air conditioner was not working on our last day which made for a very uncomfortable meal experience. From my personal experience at other hotels, five stars means relaxation and luxury but I didn’t feel like this was the priority here. I often felt like I was being chased to pay here and there when it can easily be put on the tab to sort on checkout. Being treated like we were going to run away without paying was wholly unpleasant and speaks of how this establishment sees its costumers.
The reason I put two stars instead of one is that reception tried their best to set things right. The Moroccan miss, Ibtasam, did everything she could within her capabilities to help. She was very patient and pleasant to deal with. There was also an Egyptian reception lady who was very good! The room service staff were not always prompt but I can tell they were busy. They helped us as best as they could. The staff at the breakfast buffet were also very nice and helpful. I can’t fault the staff too much because I can tell they are under a lot of pressure but it doesn’t change my grievance about the hotel standard and lack of maintenance.
In short, if you’re looking for the luxury gulf hotel five star experience, you will not find it here. I would not recommend this to my friends and colleagues.

Positive Points: Breakfast team members, including the cheff and the responsible leader and its staff. Mantainance team and housekeeping were also very fast to solve the problems.
BAD AND NEGATIVE POINTS: Photos in booking was totally different from the reality. I booked room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids 13 years and 6 years). The room "Executive with King beds" was showing 1 king bed and 2 single beds. So I booked it (beds for the couple plus for my 2 kids). However, hotel gave me a room only 1 king bed and after several discussions with the manager, my kids had to sleep in 1 extra small bed (and Hotel wanted to charge me for the extra bed) and the other on in a sofa. This was not what I booked and not what was shown in photos on the booking.com reservation on the room I selected. As soon as I arrived I claimed but neither the receptionists at chech-in nor the manager were willing to solve and told me to discuss with Booking.com. It was a terrible welcome in Qatar. I was in a totally bad situtaion where it was already paid and I had to adpat myself in poor conditions.
In addition, many other points were not good: (a) the concierge team members are not helpfull and claimed with bad mood when you either arrive with the car or ask them to get it to leave. Concierges does not want to give you tips of the city and suggested their own friend to the adventure in desert (not formal companies), (b) the attendants at the restaurant are not polite and look to you in a strange maner, (c) Jacuzzi at the swiming pool was not working (but shown as ok in booking photos), (d) Frigobar at room was not working (needed to replace), (e) constantly was missing towels, toilet paper, soap at room, (f) when I was checking out I was asked about how was my stay and the lady asked me to report to her the inconvenients and not to booking or trip advisor (so, to solve their room problem I shall talk to Booking but to claim I shall talk to them - very unpolite).
I left the hotel completed pissed off and not happy. Was not cheap and room different from the photos of the room reported on the booked room at Booking.com.

I booked through booking.com me and other families suddenly we have been notified that they cancelled our reservation due to insufficient balance!!!! Noting that our card was full , we called the hotel and they grantee the booking and we lost booking genius benefits such as free upgrade and 15% discount but it’s seems it planned from the hotel .
During check out we received very small rooms no like the one we saw in booking images and I found insect in the ground then they upgrade the room with fees 100 QR per night
Breakfast was poor and very crowded
Parking slots are not enough and they parked the cars infront of the entrance and no space to get in or out during night and in case of emergency how can we get out .
All these comments supported with images
During checkout, no late check out and we have to wait for 1 hr to collect our bags

I recently had the misfortune of staying at Grand Regency Hotel and was left feeling thoroughly disappointed and frustrated with the subpar service and amenities provided. Despite paying extra for a room with an additional bed, I was shocked to find that it was not prepared even after check in. The shower room was broken. Upon checking in, I was given a key to a room that did not have a functional shower. The water was lukewarm at best. I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff, who promised to send someone to fix it immediately but they should have checked this issue first before offering the room. To make matters worse, the room was also missing some basic toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. It's unacceptable that a hotel of this caliber would not provide even the most basic amenities to its guests. I was already paying extra for the additional bed, which was supposed to be prepared in advance. But when I arrived at the room, it was nowhere to be found. I had to call the front desk again to request that they bring up the extra bed. The hotel's lack of attention to detail and care for its guests is appalling. For the price I paid, I expected a certain level of quality and service. Unfortunately, the hotel fell far short of my expectations.

Was not happy with the hotel. We were placed here since our Qatar flight was cancelled for 24 hours. The shower’s hot water literally took 20mins to heat up. The bed is extensively used and worn down. The towels need to be replaced as the sides are unraveling.
The hotel staff do not coordinate with each other, as the hotel bell man came to get my bags the next day, but I had to tell him that I am not leaving until after 5pm.
This place is a budget hotel. Also while we were waiting to checkout, the hotel manager literally took two locals in front of us, and said don’t worry about them, as there is another desk for them. Very rude manager, and should either have a separate location for locals or none at all.

Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were extremely smelly so much so that I had to get my own room freshener to help ease the terrible smell: I complained twice or thrice and the max they could do it send someone with a pathetic air freshener and an advise to keep the windows open. Hear this the windows are not secured by a grill or the like and I have a 2 years old daughter. So much so for safety right!!!
Then it comes to the staff. I believe they attended their hospitality courses/school while asleep. Zero professionalism and courtesy. And to top that lies. I had an extra bed included in my reservation for my 11 years old and despite confirming the same it the time of giving us the room keys.

I think this can be done at extra charge, for the birthday the hotel has a celebration hall that can fit for this for sure, I don't think that it can be accepted to host the party at the room to ensure no other guest complaints, as for bringing the food , some hotels accept it but the food suppliers or yourself has to sign a desclaimer form releasing the hotel from any charges in case of food poisoninng, and some hotels requires a payment for accepting that especially they do provide this service ( food ) in their hotels. contact the management in Wyndham, am sure they will definitely assist, they have got an excellent communication to their cusotmers.
