If you like antique ambiance this Hotel is a best choice. Old great ball rooms show the atmosphere of past times. Rooms are big, clean but worn out. The hotel is a comfortable walk away from the Old City.

The Orient Palace hotel used to be one of the best hotels in Damascus. The rooms are large and the location very good. The hotel was seen better days but the large rooms and great location remain. The hotel is full of character and the staff quite helpful. The hotel is very close to the Old City and is in...

The hotel has not been modernised so it is old fashioned but the room was large and clean. Bathroom was alright but other fittings are variable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Syrian breakfasts are a miserable affair. This one is also far too expensive.

It´s certainly not a beautiful place, and the builiding is really old. But, if you are on a budget, it´s an excellent choice: very big, comfortable and clean rooms, good location, friendly staff

Yes faded glory. But very clean and with an excellent location within walking distance to the old city and the National Museum. But best of all a very friendly and nice staff. The manager (I presume) spoke very good English and was most helpfull. We had an accident and needed a dentist. A staff member spent several hours going with...

Orient Palace Hotel is a very good option in Damascus. Some of the reviews on trip advisor are overly critical of this hotel, my view is that it is a very good price (I paid 60 USD night), great location and friendly staff, old building a bit torn but charming. Rooms a big and comfortable. You walk to the old...

Included instant Nescafe, egg, bread and some miserable olives. 3 Overcharged - staff not...

This was a fine hotel 40 years ago. Now? Well nothing has changed. The location is good. The price is right. The staff are accomodating. The AC is loud. Forget the breakfast. Take the elevator at your peril (It broke while we were there with someone in it). There is no wireless.

We stayed here for four nights because we read the comments about this is a hotel for travellers not for tourists, and thought it fitted our expectations nicely. Even so, on arrival we were shocked at how run down the building is, and in particular how disgusting the bathroom was. The fixed room rate is $53 plus $7 tax ($60),...
