The hotel has some points on the good sides: it's centrally located and the rooms are okay. The staff is trying hard, but they are untrained and overchallenged. When the reception found out that we had booked a stay including breakfast and dinner (and we could show a confirmation), they sent one of the employees who were watching the entrance... More

This hotel has very basic rooms but is located within easy walking distance of the Old City and all its wonderful attractions. The staff are so friendly and helpful and were constantly asking us if we needed any assistance. We were supplied with maps and directions every time we headed out into the streets. The foyer is quite amazing. We... More

The Europe Hotel in Damascus is in a fantastic location, as it is within walking distance from the main souk, the central mosque and the damascus Museum. It has a very striking and beautifully decorated foyer and the staff is quite friendly and eager to assist with all queries. There are computers available for guests to use in the lobby... More

Negatives: small not very modern rooms, breakfast buffet mediocre like all syrian hotels, for the price i would expect more, didnt expect to pay for the internet i use, Positives: location in a quiet place, yet close to the souk, good service specially front desk, beautiful syrian reception, owner very helpful,

I stayed at the Afamia Hotel for 2 nights prior to spending one night here. Both hotels are within 5 minutes walk from one another, but the Europe Hotel is much nicer - you pay about double too. Service was excellent and rooms of a good size.

Very good location within walking distance of old city (10 -15 mins) and staff are very helpful and friendly. seemed to be very popular with German tourists. Breakfasts were average and could be more variety but certainly is very good value for money

Staff was friendly. Was quick in providing what we asked for. Breakfast - OK - nothing to rave about.. But bathroom was messy after one shower. Shower curtains are old so water drips out on the floor quickly.. Very simple settings.. They could put carpeting in corridors as each step outside the door is heard inside.. OK value for money... The Europe is one of central Damascus' newer hotels. It wins on location, location, location - in the centre of town near the old (disused) train station and within 10 minutes walk of the old city. A bit of a challenge to find - even in the unlikely event your taxi driver knows where either the hotel or the street... More
