We returned to the Shangri La after a 2 year gap when Covid stopped us visiting and wondered what we would find. We arrived at 2am after a very long journey, and immediately it was if we had come home. For us this is a very special hotel, and out of the many 5* hotels we have stayed at around the world is very much our favourite. The whole hotel is immaculately kept, the staff are superb providing a friendly, professional service, and it is just so comfortable staying there. What touched us was that several of the staff remembered us from our 2 previous visits. You cannot imagine my joy going to breakfast our first morning to be greeted by Kenza , who cooks the most perfect eggs, like a long lost friend. All the staff seem to want to go the extra mile to make sure that everything is perfect for you whether it is the waiting staff, the reception staff, and guys who look after the beach and pool - and all done with a friendly smile. Inevitably there have been some changes. It is sad that currently it is not possible to have breakfast in the Horizon Club which we always enjoyed in the past. Also in the Horizon Club what were probably over generous canapes during the social hour have become rather limited and lacklustre. Whether this is a a result of economies or and after effect of covid restrictions I am not sure. Also on the slightly negative side, we did feel there was a lack of attention to detail during the evening buffets in Sofra where often dishes were not labeled, and nobody seemed to be checking that the buffet was restocked with food. However, these were minor details that did not stop us thoroughly enjoying our stay and all being well we will be back for another stay over Christmas and the New Year.…

We went to Sofra Restaurant and we really had a GREAT EXPERIENCE. We were very happy to be served by Mr Ghyansham and Ms Mildred who attended to our needs and they were very polite. We also tried the abra where Mr M. Fatih was very entertaining and we rode the boat safely. He was very polite as well. In total, I would recommend the experience to my other friends who will visit UAE in the future 🤗

Shangri La -The circle of life! Amazing luxurious property situated in Abu Dhabi. Far away from the coty hush-bush, this place is surely gonna rejuvenate you to the next level! Two large pools to dip in- from which the infinity pool was our absolute favorite! There was a kids pool too for the kids to enjoy. The highlight of our stay was the in-hotel abra ride! Beautiful calming and scenic views, sailing across the hotel. The breakfast spread was vast and luxurious with a widespread options. The room service, the lounge service was impeccable. We spent few weeks in this hotel last year, during COVID times and we were very pleased to return now, when it’s all back to normal. Our stay was very short on this visit unfortunately, but we thoroughly enjoyed Shangri-La hospitality and service. We booked Horizon room for this visit, and I found it a great value for money - very pleasant lounge with fantastic view to the Grand Mosque and 5* service. Nice cocktails and excellent snack offering, one of the best ones we had in SL lounges. We like the tranquility of the beach, never saw it crowded or noisy, great place for couples looking for a relaxing getaway in a busy city. I hope it won’t be long before we come back, this is definitely one of the places I will be glad to return to again and again over years

Wonderful welcoming hotel with super friendly staff who always make guests feel right at home. Nothing is ever too much trouble with delicious food and ample facilities. A special note of thanks to our breakfast hosts Shyam and Ray. Pool attendants Venkat who spoiled us daily at the pool and our wonderful hosts in the Horizon Club Jem and Priya. Evenings in the Horizon Club were always relaxing with lovely food and drinks.

Beautiful elegant hotel with wonderful attentive service. Private beach, lovely pool and well equipped gym. The souk was in walking distance and has delicious restaurants with outdoor seating overlooking the beach. Highly recommend.

This was our first trip to Abu Dhabi having visited Dubai a couple of times. You get a super welcome from the hotel staff, and I have to say they were all a credit to the hotel during our stay. The hotel itself is pretty good, but there are some things you need to be aware of. Firstly it pretty much sits between 2 main roads into Abu Dhabi, and the road noise is 24/7 if you sit on the small beach or around the pool. We used the buffet restaurant a couple of times, and the food choice was pretty good, but beware that it will cost you £70 each, and the soft drinks are very expensive. We upgraded our room, and it was ok, but only ok. Did have a TV but only one channel we could watch, and only a small balcony. If you want to go anywhere it’s a 50-60 aed taxi ride, as there is nothing really near. But do go to the AL Qana restaurant and cafe area which is a 5min walk away as well worth it. So pretty decent hotel, staff super good but maybe a little bit tired compared with others we have visited in Dubai.…
