I stayed at this hotel for ten nights. It was recommended to me by a friend who is a local from Asuncion. The location is strategic, right next to the city centre and all government buildings. Nearby, there are also plenty of lovely restaurants where to have lunch or dinner, especially La Taberna Espanola and Bolsi. I stayed in a...

The location is excellent. Very close to the riverside and only a few blocks from the city centre where there are lots of restaurants-maximum four blocks walk. Beds are comfortable, rooms are extremely clean, good shower pressure, WiFi was good, flat screen TV. They very kindly gave me a room when I arrived at 7am. I suspect not the room...

It was about a 30-minute taxi ride from the bus station, so coming by bus offers no more convenience on arrival than coming by plane. The hotel is wonderful if you like old, traditional buildings. The hotel will give you a deal if you book directly and pay cash, in either guarani or US dollars. Mine was $40/night for a...

This hotel must have been breath-taking in its day. Now, it's looking pretty shabby and run down, but it's still charming and great value. The area is a bit rough, but then that's true for most of Asuncion, and the staff were happy to recommend some excellent restaurants. The room was big and clean, with a balcony that overlooked the...

Located in a pretty run down part of the city in my opinion and very difficult for us to find a shop to buy the basics like water etc or a nice bar for a drink in the evening. The hotel itself was full of space, the lobby area was huge and the decor though dated made us feel like...

I speak Spanish and upon arrival at around noon, I was surprised that they were able to give me a room at check-in that early! Even if there was no room available, they have a large and comfortable living room area with A/C where guests may wait. For the price, I feel it is great value. The high ceilings, A/C,...

We stayed here for 2 nights mid December 2015. Great staff- very helpful. The room was very comfortable. Shower was great! Breakfast good, normal. The balconies were great but right on the street so lots of exciting noise. Close to downtown, within walking of lots of restaurants, the river walk area and good shopping. Very historical feel! We had rented...

We were biking in Paraguay. The hotel is in a former covent and rooms are quite different. So make sure to get what you want, on the garden or on the first floor. It is quite charming and service is good. But it is not modern, and far from usual today's standards. It is close to the center, which worth...

This is an old house (built more than 150 years ago) with modern amenities: * modern bathrooms * flat screens * wifi (fast, if it works - did not work for half of my stay) * mini bar (with pretty fair prices) The breakfast buffet was pretty good, with a choice of fresh juices, cereals, cold cut, cheese, decent choice...

The owners of this hotel are starting a makeover to restore some of the original elegance. When many people left the city for the suburbs, the whole central city seem to decline but hopefully there is a move to restore some of the beautiful old buildings. Service was excellent - we were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost....
