We stayed for over a month at Hodava on business. My first impression on arrival was bad - for English think old Butlins buildings surrounded by prison style fencing. But actually we ended up having a good stay here. The rooms are shabby, single rooms are small - I ended up in a "suit" with a living room and little... More

Hodava is nicer then some, worse then others hence the average rating its receiving. We were there for an extended stay so our displeasure was more to do with Port Moresby then anything else. Friendly staff, clean rooms (bugs everywhere regardless of hotel) with apartment style rooms available. Everything in POM is expensive and Hodava is no different, if you... More

Hotels in Papua New Guinea are in general very expensive, so you need to compare to other hotels in this price range within the country, not in other countries. The rooms are small and basic, but clean. Everything is functioning, for example TV (pay TV is included), the bed is comfortable and the shower has hot water. That is much... More

This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at in my 15 years of travelling for work. My first experience there I had money stolen out of my pants. Then I switched rooms and was stuck inside the room for over an hour. I now have a different room and the telephone doesn't work or the hot water.... More

I only spent one night there and advised the people that booked me in there to never use it again. I didn't have any hot water, and I had to share the "bathroom" with the cockroaches. The room was pokey and looked tired. It is more like a back packers hostel than a hotel.

Rooms are ok but not well designed. Looks like they rushed to build the place. K400/night for a place that looks like council housing? No way. It's ok if you want to crash for just one night but I wouldn't stay there for more than 3 nights. The staff at the restaurant a very friendly though.

This place was built late last year (2012) but already looks tired. It is out near the hospital (close to Shady Rest Hotel). The rooms are set in two storey motel like accommodation and are small and uninviting, so small in fact I hit the solid bed base every time I tried to get to the wardrobe. There was no... More
