We stayed in July with kids then again in September as a couple. Location is amazing and the pool/beach area you would be hard pressed to find better on the island. Rooms are decent although smell a little musty but with the amount of rain and tropical climate it’s kind of expected. Not a lot at the resort for the kids, pool was freezing and no entertainment. Cleaning was fantastic on our second stay I think because we were in a suite it was done early however sometimes you may wait until afternoon. Service at the pool bar is slow and lacking direction. They do try but can not keep up. Gets very busy on Saturday’s and Sunday’s when they have day visitors. Front desk staff are all wonderful especially Lisa! My disappointment for my second stay was that I sent various emails informing that it would be our wedding anniversary and could we organise something special. I then saw two front desk staff that remembered us and informed them of our anniversary. However, we did not receive anything special in our room and being a Marriot member didn’t seem to do much either. It seemed odd compared to various other places we stayed at. I also had a staff member open my door without knocking while I was in the shower then stand at the door without saying why until my husband told them to leave. Picture perfect place but just needs more direction and management, as well as proper renovations. We were told we were in a renovated room however the tv picture was distorted, telephone broken and bed was old and saggy. Good: Location Beach access Staff Easy check in Bad: Service time Musty smell Smells like sewerage on ground floor Beds No snacks Few improvements that could help: A small shop or vending machine that sells snacks and sunscreen Few more English speaking channels (there’s 1 movie channel or the BBC) Music at the pool/beach area Activities for kids like volleyball or sand castle competition Overall a decent stay and we did enjoy our time. But it seems that they know their hotel is the best on the island so they don’t really care about going above and beyond for guests…
The facilities were great rooms clean and really well kept, available restaurants and service were really good . Fantastic location and the team service from reception to Latitude 22 and the pool area were really exceptional.
Let's start with the shining lights of our trip which can be summarised as two people: Margot and Lisa. They were amazing in their service and so, so helpful every day they were on. From outing suggestions to restaurants they were brilliant. If I were a competitive hotel, I would hire them tomorrow. From there it went downhill pretty quickly; the food on site was average at best paying $30 AUD for 1/2 a club sandwich at the beach restaurant so $60 AUD for a whole sandwich. I am completely ok with Island time although waiting 1hr for an entree and then a further 50 mins for a main in the signature restaurant seems extreme, especially at the prices they charge. The team did a great job of accommodating our interconnecting room requests. The rooms were a good size albeit with a weird layout, and the main room smelled noticeably musty which took a week to air out. Room service needs to buy a vacuum and apply it to things such as sand etc... They also need to buy cleaning products and use them in the bathrooms. We ended up buying our own. The whole property is run down, with peeling paint, empty display cabinets, broken fixtures, lifts that work half the time and the list goes on. Finally, apart from the two amazing front desk staff, the whole attitude of the place was poor. From pool attendees who seemed that they were bonused on getting home as quickly as possible and packing up the pool as soon as they could even around people who had to go and ask that the deck chair mattresses had to be returned (no sign of rain). To a general feeling that guests were an inconvenience to the routine of the staff in general. We needed a break which we got although the family vote was unfortunately never to return.…
Good hotel, at a good location in bay. Reception staff were excellent specially Anna. Good pool and on beach for kids to play with. Hotel staff provided excellent information about noumea and on what to do. Nice 10 min walk through the beach to local restaurants and cafes. Got a free upgrade so that was nice and thank you to staff and mgmt for that. This was a good stay in noumea after our stay in Le Meridian Isle of Pine which was magnificent as well. We stayed as couple.
The destination and location was exceptional, the beach is crystal clear and the sunset is amazing. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the ocean and the decor was nice . But don’t let yourself run out of toilet paper because they don’t replace it until it is all used up! Lucky for the facial tissues. And this was the same for the other couple we travelled with. The food service and bar service around the pool / beach bar was absolutely terrible. The average wait to be served for a drink order was About 20-30 min then you would have to wait for your drinks to be served for a minimum of 45min to 1 hour. Now for the room service - over 2 hour wait and that’s if you are lucky enough to get them to answer the phone. From my observation the staff really don’t know what they are doing. Initially I thought it was that they were short staffed however it really looks like they lack leadership . Too many standing around like lost sheep.…
Le Meridien is a lovely spot right on the beach with great pool and facilities. The rooms are spacious and clean. The only downside is that the bar by the pool and beach closes at 5pm so you can’t have drinks and snacks whilst watching the sun set. There was an issue on check in where we were allocated the wrong room, after one staff member told us that there was nothing that could be done, Anne at Reception went to check with the Reservations department to understand what went wrong and arranged a room move (thank you). Location is good as it is easy enough to get the bus into town.
Beautiful beachfront location with spectacular ocean views. We had a few hiccups in our booking which were eventually sorted out by management & this made our trip memorable as we had an ocean view room which I would highly recommend. The Front Desk staff deserve a standing ovation for their professional and attention to detail friendly service . Thank you to Masaru, Zerena, Anne & Lisa for making us feel so welcome and assisting us with all our queries and bookings. Marie at Breakfast deserves a special mention for her professional & awesome service with a smile, most grateful. Thank you Le Meridien Noumea for making this a relaxing & perfect holiday .
We emailed ahead of time to confirm that restaurants and services were all available and open. The manager responded with “yes”. We are now here and without notice or communication the only menu available is that which has been on offer for the last 3 days. No a la carte, seafood buffet was overpriced and then the-used on Sunday morning breakfast buffet. Hotel is falling apart and the limited food is highly disappointing. On trying to order room service was told they were too busy. Other guests told us to not bother eating here but to go next door. No hospitality here!
We stayed for a week on holiday and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very spacious, modern and clean. Lisa in Reception was exceptional, she helped us with our car rental, tours - everything we needed in a most friendly professional manner. Thanks Lisa!
We had a problem with a flight to an offshore island and went back to the hotel. Lisa(?) was so good to us. Helped us contact our agent in NZ, booked us an extra two nights we could use, just in case we couldn't get flight, just amazing! Also such a lovely place to stay.
