Stayed 3 nights here in a one bedroom suite with sea view and were happy with the room and service. Clean, comfortable and a good size, the bed was huge and very comfy. Good shower though the temperature fluctuated a bit on one night. Handy location just a short walk to cafes, restaurants, shops and the main beaches, as well as the aquarium. Can recommend the bakery L' Atelier Gourmand which is close by. Hotel is on a busy main road so rooms on the front side get the road noise, however wasn't an issue for us. Staff were friendly and welcoming, spoke good English and were happy to help. Would stay here again.
Stayed At Le Lagon for 2 nights . Rooms were clean and spacious enough . Bathroom was clean with towels with soap dispensers . Breakfast was delivered to the room . Coffee , Butter , jams fresh pastries . Room had a balcony. The staff are very friendly and proffessional and will do what they can to accomodate you . The hotel is walking distance from a shopping centre where there are cafes , salons , souvenir and clothe shops . Next door there is a medical clinic as well as a great pharmacy if you need things like cosmetics etc .
Stayed for a week here, studio room w pool view. Was clean and comfy, staff were all great. No problems with English at the front desk. Having a balcony was awesome. The pool was good, clean, with a few day beds available. The location is super convenient with a pharmacy, a couple of small food shops, and a bus stop almost directly out the front, and of course just a minute or two walk to the beach. Auchan supermarket is 10 minutes walk away, and with a microwave, a fridge, plates and cuttlery in the room, I prepared most of my own breakfasts and dinners. L' Atelier Gourmand was super close too, for fresh baguettes, salads, and sweets etc. I'd stay again for sure.
Everything was amazing. Great rooms and perfect location to the beach, restaurants, bars, and neighboring islands. I recommend asking for Chavely at the reception desk! She was very helpful and can recommend beautiful places to visit.
We had a lovely 3 night stay at Hotel Le Lagon. The kids loved the heated pool and I loved the sauna. Sitting on the swinging pod chair on the balcony of the garden room looking out on a coconut tree was dreamy! The room was very large, clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were very helpful and I was able to communicate in English without issue. Walking distance to Anse Vata Beach and aquarium. Thank you we had a great stay.
We checked into Le Lagon hotel late at night after our flight from Brisbane and drive from the airport. Even though it was late there was no problem checking in and we were glad to find our room welcoming with everything you would expect. ,Tea and coffee making, microwave , crocs and cutlery, fridge ,sink and basics for washing up. Straight to bed as it was so late and happy to report bed was very comfortable. Plenty if hot water for showering. We found we were short of the right adaptor and reception were happy to lend us one for the duration of our stay as long as we returned it! This was appreciated as it saved us the trouble and expense if buying a new one. Reception was very good and everyone very friendly. Always up for a "bon jour" or "bonsoir" We had the continental breakfast included in our rate and this was lovely every day of our 6 night stay. The hotel is well situated within easy walking distance if a range of restaurants and we had 6 good dinners nearby. Also more restaurants around the cove a few kms at Baie de Citron which are good for lunches too. The swimming pool was closed for 4 days during our stay because of a problem with the pump. However the beach is very close and good for swimming too. The Jacuzzi bath and the sauna weren't impacted and so we were able to use these each day when we had time. We used the pool on the last day of our stay and it was beautifully heated. Overall a lovely hotel with good facilities comfortable and well designed room and helpful friendly staff. Well situated for a base in New Caledonia. Would definitely recommend. …
We were very happy with our stay here. The location is a short bus ride from the Noumea port and town centre, and easy walking distance to many Anse Vata destinations, including lovely beaches, the aquarium, the taxi boat to Ilot des Carnards, the Mary D Tchou Tchou train, as well as several nice restaurants, cafes and shops. There is also a great little supermarket and a pharmacy just a couple of steps from the front door. The staff were very friendly with excellent English and the room was clean and well-appointed.
We travelled to New Caledonia in early January 2020 with our two kids aged 3 & 7, here is some of my notes from our stay: Hotel le lagon- super quick responses to emails and fb messengers No bottle of wine per paperwork - got wine on day 2. Get a corkscrew from reception. King bed HUGE Pillows & bed very comfortable Breakfast and inclusions eg wine not noted on our file - more to do with our travel agent 7travel? So a bit of back & forth trying to get what we had booked. Young guy named Ludovic at hotel reception awesome!. For an AMAZING bakery- L’Aitilere Garamonds Turn right when exiting hotel and walk a few hundred metres. Clean, classy, good food, decent prices and cheap baguettes! Lots to choose from! Open until 7pm each night. Supermarket- very small store just 100m from hotel- turn right as you exit hotel. Or Larger supermarket turn right when exit hotel lobby and stay on same road for approximately 10-15 mins walk. Pool is smallish but nice and warm and spa is lovely. Very peaceful setting. Beautiful new sun loungers and day beds. High quality outdoor furniture. Sauna large and great. Gym small but well equipped with nice bathrooms also. A few petrol stations are along the road that hotel is on- quick snacks etc- again turn right as exiting hotel lobby. At this time of year (January) Anse Vata is VERY windy in the afternoons, water super choppy. But the bay is lovely and calm in the mornings. 4th floor room 405, nice and quiet, overlooking pool. Small sea views. HUGE balcony. Could hear music from the Hilton one night. Train ride- lady speaks English Japan & french. V impressive. A great trip definitely do this! Duck island- great snorkelling very close to shore. Huge variety of fish and turtles. Colourful coral well preserved. Taxi boats very busy have to wait ages to get on on a Sunday. New Caledonia 🇳🇨 is second largest reef after Great Barrier Reef in QLD. Swimming in Anse Vata bay- the best swimming spot is right in front of the LeMeridian Hotel which is a 10 minute walk from Le Lagon Hotel- there is public access you don’t have to stay there-just head for the long jetty. Best swimming is in the left side of the jetty (facing the water), go past the sea grass and it’s shallow and silky soft sand.and best snorkelling is on the right side of the jetty. Lots of colourful coral and fish, (and sea snakes ) just get past the sea grass and you enter an amazing coral formation super close to shore! (Like 20m off the beach!!). Jump off the jetty, the kids love it! Spotted a sea HUGE turtle 20m off shore just cruising around at Anse Vata bay right near jetty cheating the sea grass. French is widely spoken everywhere and English is very limited or not at all so brushing up on your basics is a good idea. Fresh good food ie fruit & veg is quite hard to come by and it’s very expensive. After a week of eating allllll the pastries & baguettes we are ready for some home cooked meal and salad & veggies. Weather- we got VERY lucky with the weather . Blue skies every day (here 7 nights), and not a drop of rain until our last 24hours of our stay. 4-11 January. It is the wet season so we were very fortunate. Lemon Bay Didn’t snorkel at bay de citron (Lemon bay) because kids wouldn’t walk that far (approx 20-30 min walk from Anse Vata. But I did see people snorkelling there. Lots of cool wooden chairs and sun loungers there. Lots of nice restaurants. I’d say better than Anse Vata for restaurants and selection and atmosphere. Breakfast at restaurant buffet and brunch on weekends Hot chocolate sauce is to die for!!! French toast Pan au chocolates Chocolate mouse cups- again to die for! Bacon eggs Hot dishes Lots of hot meals ie chicken and rice and traditional dishes. Cereals Fruit Toast etc. Pedestrians crossings more suggested than guaranteed for cars to stop. Beautiful aquarium in hotel lobby. Great playground for kids in Burger King for rainy day activity. Heard aquarium Was good from a local. Great kids playground on main road behind Château royal and le meridian. I have also written up a separate review for Isle of Pines if you’d like to know more about that. …
The location is good. It is located close to the beach. There are restaurants near by. The room was very good. The shower was good. The bed was fine. They offer a free voucher for a water taxis to Duck Island. ($12.50 value). Taxis to the port area $10 in local currency. I would stay here again.
I have just spent 4 days at this Hotel. Good position geographically. I have been many times at Le Lagon and the services are always excellent. The staff is very helpful and charming. Will be back definitely...
