Great rooms entire property is well maintained the staff are very friendly with many of them having a good command of English. The pool is great and the bistro food is great quality. Our view from the room was magnificent and the location is pretty central to everything.

We give staff five stars, happy and friendly. Did not eat the food in the bar as basic and expensive. The apartment was basic, bathroom needs renewing, kitchen was limited with utensils etc. The duvet on the bed was extremely stained. The hotel is close to shops, transport, the beach (banned from swimming), also close to wonderful authentic French Restaurants.

We paid for an ocean view room on the 19th floor, the ocean view was magnificent! The room was tidy and housekeeping as per the hotels conditions will only service the room once a week. However, you have all the amenities in your room including kitchen, decent sized refrigerator and washing machine and dryer (pots/ plans etc for cooking as well). We absolutely loved our stay here, the location was prime the room was dated but still decent. The front of staff were not fluent in English, but new enough to get by. It helps to learn some basic phrases too if you’re not fluent in French. We really enjoyed our 4 nights stay and used it as a base whilst we drove ourselves around the south of the island. You get what you pay for, so if I could recommend requesting for the highest floor with Ocean Views and you should not be disappointed. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Noumea and would also suggest the same advice to family and friends.

I’ve been to New Caledonia before and while the people are still friendly and obliging, it has increased in size. It caters for the cruise ships but is not a place for extended holiday The Ramada is a decent enough hotel and the receptionists do speak some English but my school boy french was definitely helpful. It’s a little rundown. I unblocked the basin plumbing and there’s a gap in the floor. There is no toaster in the kitchenette. The conciergerie has limited tour pamphlets and no real activity. eg a tour for one day will set you back $A 300 at least. There’s not much to do except to take a taxi to town $A15 and back $A21 until I said in French that I didn’t want a tour. Town is dodgy, but the people are nice and helpful. You shouldn’t go out after dark apparently because hijacking is a reported hobby. There are no Refunds if you leave early and when the bus from Tontouta at the airport drops you off, the entrance is out of sight about 100m away. Do NOT stay at this hotel, for more than 3 nights. You’ll be itching to get out of the place by then. If you eat at the hotel restaurant, you’ll spend about $A90 If you brave the walk, then you can eat at another hotel or at a seaside establishment ( about 400m ) If you would like a cheap baguette, there’s a nice little Vietnamese grocery just around the corner. Not recommended for extended stays OK for a short business visit.

The hotel was part of a very affordable package including flights so I guess you get what you pay for!. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. 5 stars for the staff. The room was clean though very dated and the bed was comfortable. The toilet seat lid was broken and the bath plug didn't hold water, the shower was over the bath, the vanity sink plug got stuck and it took more than a day to get it fixed. There was an electric jug with a couple of tea bags, coffee sachets and sugar for the week. There was no tourist information in the room and we had to ask for a map of Noumea from reception. The aircon was very good and quiet enough to leave on all night and we had a nice view over the lake/golf course from the 14th floor. The lift was very quick and always available. The restaurant was only open a couple of days a week, the food from the Sports Bar was awful on the one occasion we ate there in the evening but that is not open on Sundays. We had one hotel breakfast, 1 croissant, 2 pastries, a teaspoon of butter and jam and a glass of fruit juice with machine coffee. We expected a little more for the price. The pool was was very welcome as there was no swimming allowed from the beach with beach towels available from reception.

The room was big, with a balcony. One of the receptionists, Mr Dylan, was incredibly efficient, professional and helpful. Unfortunately I cannot say the same of some of his colleagues. The location is alright: you can walk to the Anse Vata beach, but you need a taxi to reach any other attraction. I didn’t like the misinformation. They confirmed my booking saying that my room had view on the racecourse, view lake, view mountain. What they omitted is that, just before the racecourse, there is a huge public parking used by cars, trucks and buses day and night. The “lake” is a pond inside the racecourse and the “mountain” is one of the many hills of Nouméa. The information about the revolving restaurant at the top of one of the towers were wrong: it is closed Sunday dinner, Monday and Tuesday, not only Sunday dinner as they state on the paper they give you during the check in. Very disappointing: because of that, I couldn’t book the restaurant that I was really keen to try. The cleanliness is definitely not their strength. To be noted also that for a five nights stay they give you just 2 sachets of soluble coffee, no more, and no milk.

Room Tip: Ask carefully about the view from your room. Best rooms might be in the towers.

This was the second time staying at the Ramada (we stayed for 12 nights) - and I think we finally found the perfect room for us. We had the one bedroom apartment, which has an amazing view over the sea. The apartment has a massive deck (with table and chairs) that expands from the bedroom to the lounge - perfect for sitting outside for breakfast, or watching the sun setting. We really enjoyed having the kitchen, giving us the option of cooking dinner, rather than dining out every night. There is a wonderful fish/vege market a short bus ride away, so we did enjoy just doing our own thing in the kitchen. We bought basic cooking supplies from the local four square, which is next to the bakery. Oils, jams, butter, cheese etc. We were told on arrival that our room wouldn't be serviced for 4 or 5 days, but that we could ask for fresh towels or coffee/tea bags when ever we liked. So this wasn't a problem for us, and we found the staff to be very obliging in accommodating this for us. We enjoyed visiting the local bakery which is down the road and around the corner most mornings for fresh croissants/baguettes etc. We also found a wonderful wine bar/restaurant just down the road. We spent a wonderful New Year's Eve there. Amazing, friendly staff with the most delicious food and wine. The local Anse Vata beach has had a bit of a revamp in the last couple of years, and it looks like they are working on another part of the beach in front of the main shops, which will give wonderful access. The water was soo warm and clear - 27 degrees!! All in all we had a wonderful time at the Ramada and are looking forward to our next stay.

Lovely great big apartments with beautiful views over Anse Vata and the hippodrome. Our family had lots of room to spread out and used the small kitchen. There were 2 decks and a table setting both inside and outside with 4 chairs so perfect really. Was great having a washer and a dryer for mid holiday laundry. We enjoyed the pool every day and our teenage son visited the gym too. There was a fair walk to the beach but that was ok. We were glad for some help at reception in both English and French. I do wonder though why they provide about 10 wine glasses and only 2 wee small water glasses that you are supposed to use when brushing your teeth. Perhaps we didn’t drink enough! Overall good value. Merci!

I have stayed numerous times over the last 8 years and Ramada has always been just okay. The next option is Meridian but is twice the price. Ramada is an international hotel chain and I would expect much more. We booked for 7nights. When we had no room service after 2 days , I enquired, to be told that we would get one room clean/service over the 7 days (not what was on the internet), if you want more service you need to pay more. Towels need to be requested on a daily basis. The restaurant and bar was closed on Sunday evening at 7.30 when we when we went to get dinner. As this was booked by a local company as I am contracting to them I will be requesting that they do not use this hotel in the future for me or my colleagues and suggest a refund as this would have to be the worst experience I have had at a supposedly international hotel.
