I am an experienced traveller. We stayed 9 days (too long), mid-season, 150 US$/night + 17% tax = 178 US$ for a fan bungalow facing sunrise, including a cheap quality breakfast (cheapest everything: cheap bread, cheap milk, cheap instant coffee, cheap cereals, bad canned fruits, cheap jelly... They are stingy and greedy for your money. No fun, cocktails or music...

Fantastic place to stay and very good staff. Mike is a perfect guide for tours, snorkeling/scuba and I have been told Tina is a fantastic scuba trainer. Place is very simple, and, yes, may bee it could be better kept. You have to buy a card for internet connection ( 5 USD for 2 hours). In the mini market you...

We spent 7 days at Carp Island resort. The Island has jungle and you can walk to the north and east on the island. To walk around the island takes about an hour. The reason I give this 3 stars is that the restaurant has community tables. Very basic. Buffet style food. No bar, nothing really to buy outside of...

We were welcomed by staff and our divemaster, Saki, when our boat touched land. Everyone was so gracious! The resort itself is rustic but so what. We were there to dive. The cottages that looked out o the beach were very plain and the beds just ok (Japanese-style) but we slept well regardless. We had our own bathroom and a...

This place is for people who love to dive and explore. We had the time of our lives here. The rustic beauty and simplicity of it all was refreshing. The entire resort is set up for diving, but when we arrived, there was a couple who kayaked over from Koror and were not diving. Just exploring the land. So they...

Stayed at Carp on our last night of 8 day kayak trip. The bed was a teeny tiny bit more comfortable than the mat I'd slept on for a week, but that was only because we stacked both of the queen-sized "mattresses" on one platform bed. The mattresses are really just 3 inch foam. Sheets are pill-y and scratchy, pillows...

We were a group of 7 divers, mixed man and ladies. The most of the crew is realy nice and they do their best. But the diving is very commercial! Forget advanced dives, forget about diving with sharks on Peleliu. Beware Tina the boss - she is smiling but very commercial. You will have hard time to argue about locations...

My boyfriend and I planned to stay 3 nights, but we left after 1 night. Out of the 5 places we stayed in Palau, this was our least favorite. We stayed in a Sunrise cottage. Some pros, but far more cons... Pros: - Carp Island is beautiful and has many nice beaches - The dive shop is great, and our...

We spent one week on Carp Island as part of our three-week trip to Palau. We caught the boat to Carp at the dock in Koror where we also purchased our $100.00 dive permit and tour of Jellyfish Lake. Our bags were packed on the boat and we set off for the 45 minute ride across calm seas through the...

I lived in the diver house, not super attractive if you talk about what's in the room (basically, a bed with mattress, an electric fan, no pillow, no blanket). Having said that, i actually liked it because it is a special feeling and that simplicity actually attracts me a lot. Sometimes all we need is really not that much, but...
