Detailed Reviews
Overview:
We stayed in a standard room on the 4th floor with a view out over the main railroad station in the city. The hotel is well located about a 10-15 minute walk from the Sule Pagoda with easy access to other parts of the city by Grab Taxi. The hotel feels news and contemporary with an Italian bar/restaurant in the lobby which serves a great selection of food and drink. Would recommend this hotel for those seeking good value for money. The only downside for us was the breakfast, it did not compare to other breakfasts in other parts of Asia.
Room:
The room was clear with black-out blinds and separate shower and toilet. It was a compact room with good space utilization. We had each had a backpack, not sure how you would fit much more in.
Location:
We were able to walk to the main parts of the city. There is a project in Yangon called ygnwalls which aims to beautify the city by cleaning up back alleys and turning them into public spaces. One of the nicest is the cinema street which is located behind the movie theatre just down the street from the hotel. Definitely check this out. The main market is also near hotel. Restaurant and tea shop options are nearby as well.
Service:
We had no issues with the service.

After many nights of foam pillows that give you a headache, worn towels and bathrooms that you want to get out of fast, Hotel G was a revelation. You sink into the feather pillows and snuggle up in the fresh-smelling sheets and duvet. The room is small but well-planned with a desk looking out over the city, TWO simple night stands (we only ever had one), clean and bright shower and toilet, plumbing that works, gowns and slippers. Reasonably priced restaurant if you choose carefully.
We did recommend that the room safe was secured to the shelf. Hopefully this will be executed !
I’d stay there again!

Hotel G is stylish, affordable and well located with many of the attractions a short walk or Grab ride away. The hotel offers cozy communal spaces and a gym. Babette is the hotel’s lively restaurant and bar area with a delicious food and drinks menu. The bar seems popular with the expat and local community. The staff are fantastic and consistent in providing a great guest experience.

Rooms are small but perfect for your meetings in downtown Yangon with nice & cozy atmosphere. I stayed 3 nights in 2nd week of March 2020
Mainly frequented by expats and nice bar at lobby.
One area I would like to suggest for improvement - the breakfast is included in price but the waiters bring you a menu card to order hot meals and this very confusing. On the face of that page its written MMK 6,500 for any dish. 1st day as I didn't have my reading glasses ordered pancakes but next day with glasses on I saw this foot note and I did not order for next 2 days. This needs to be either made very clear to staff they have communicate to guests if this is chargeable part or else.
Enjoy

Hotel G is a comfortable, relaxed and friendly place to stay. 'Good' rooms are snug but well organised for maximum use of space. Next time I may pay a bit more for the elbow room of a 'great' room, but there were not any available when I booked. Babbett bar seems to be an expat favourite at the moment, so often we were able to have meetings there. At times it is a bit loud with music, but otherwise a good atmosphere - pizza is recommended - also ceasar salad. Use of the very nice gym is also included in the room rate, which was nice for being in a city where walking is not such a great option. Breakfast is very generous with a hot egg or pancake/waffle option. Coffee is not so good, but you can buy a cappuccino at the bar and the baristas make lovely coffees. . .

This was my first trip to Myanmar and really didn’t know which hotel to pick. Based on online reviews, I picked Hotel G in Yangon and was not disappointed. The hotel is perfectly located, within a cheap Grab ride of the different business centers and the staff is always smiling and eager to help. I also very much liked the Babett bar and restaurant. A great place to mingle and get a very nice and reasonably priced lunch or dinner. I didn’t try but also heard that their Sunday brunch is also worth going for. That will be for my next trip. Management should advertise better their gym. Top place, large, well equipped, with trainers available. Not something you doing in many hotels for sure.
Only drawback is that the rooms are a little small with limited space for putting clothes. Rest is perfect!

We arrived at the hotel at 7am because we took the over night bus from Bagan. The staff let us check in early which is very convenient for us because we obviously need to freshen up after a 10hr bus ride.
Also the location is in Yangon central. Very easy access to all the must-go places.
Definitely recommend HOTEL G YANGON.

Over the years I have stayed in most of the business hotels and let me tell you this is now my only choice. I think I have stayed there 50 nights in total over the past couple of years. The rooms are perfect, not big but that is a major benefit as they are incredibly well thought out. They are well designed with great amenities. Honestly it is what you need. The design of the hotel and the staff are also without question the best in Yangon. The breakfast is great, the western selection is perfect and I always look forward to it. The Gym is HUGE I just need to visit it more often. The best part for me is the evening atmosphere. It has the restaurant Babett. The food is excellent and very affordable for the quality, their range is very good and they always surprise me with new specials. The restaurant staff are great. It is the perfect hotel to have a great nights rest, great breakfast and a liveley (but not loud) restaurant where I usually end up meeting new people and building connections. I even got some new business from chatting with the guy next to me! Honestly what more could you ask for. The team, product and property location are the best.

+1
Very nice and modern hotel, very friendly staff, clean rooms.
Food in the restaurant delicious with good portions.
Very good breakfast
Good location to go sightseeing.
Saturday evening live music in Restaurant , was very nice.
Only big minus point. No fridge or minibar in the room. They offer chocolate bars in the rooms to buy but all half melted as no option to cool it.
Same with drinks. We then bought some drinks outside as only drinks available in restaurant but they were off course warm after an hour.
