The BEST IN Yangon, Myanmar, The Pan Pacific Hotel

My apartment had problems, so I need to look for a temporary place to stay with. So, I decided to stay at Pan Pacific for 2N3D last September 24-26, 2022.

I didn’t regret an inch of staying at Pan Pacific because I had blast during my short stay. A disaster at home became a perfect time for me. Thank you to these people at Saan Restaurant for attending my needs, they were trainees namely Thae Hsu and Eaint Po Po Chit who made it easy peasy for me. I really appreciate it. Also, Kyaw Thu of the Reception, holy moly! You will immediately feel at home and welcome with his warm hospitality. Thank you, guys. I really like it!

Not only that, the Asst. Manager at Saan Restaurant, Mr. Tin Tun never failed to make me feel extra special. Thank you so much. I really, really appreciate you positive energy and for being enthusiastic in all things you do.

Lastly, the General Manager, Mr. Hasitha is truly a remarkable man! He make sure that I will be able to get the best stay I could. I owe you big time, Hasitha.

With that, I highly and sincerely recommend, Pan Pacific Yangon for your short or long stay.

We stayed in the Pan Pacific Yangon for just the one night, but would’ve loved to have stayed longer. The hotel has a fantastic location and a beautiful view over the city from the infinity pool (where you can also enjoy delicious cocktails).

Our room was a twin - the bathroom was truly beautiful with a powerful waterfall shower and a separate bathtub. The bathroom amenities were also superb (and eco-friendly).

But the real highlight of our trip were the staff. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and well looked after. I am always blown away by the kindness and selflessness of hospitality staff but the Pan Pacific Yangon really exemplified just how good hotel service can be. I’d like to give a special mention to Pyae Phyo Naing and Tin Tun Naing at the main restaurant, who were not only wonderfully attentive, but fascinating to talk to and kept us entertained throughout our dinner (we went for the buffet, which is delicious and very well priced). Thank you to them both for their unforgettable world-class hospitality. It was truly a pleasure to spend time with them.

We will be back! Thank you Pan Pacific for an excellent stay.

Great hotel with fantastic rooms, friendly staff and yummy buffet breakfast! The hotel is connected on the first floor to the huge Junction City Shopping mall that has a supermarket on the 4th floor and food court/restaurants/movie theatre on the fifth floor. Pan Pacific has a great location, right opposite the Bogyoke Aung San Market (accessible via overhead bridge to shopping mall on 2nd floor). For other places, it’s very easy to use Grab (ride-hailing app) to get around.

One thing I noted about the hotel is that its staff all seemed very motivated, from the reception to wait staff to housekeeping.

I decided to book this hotel in view of its brand, security and its close proximity to the shopping mall, and a few tourist attractions such as Chinatown, Bogyoke Aung San market

It did not disappoint us upon our first visit. Reception counter staff were very friendly and helpful, speak English, and provided us with some advisories on where to go and masks against COVID-19. Need to mention here the reception staff who had served us during our stay were : Sandy, Nora, Jeffrey and Trisha.

The room is huge, and full of amenities. Really big toilet with bath tub, big and comfortable beds, and huge TV. We enjoyed the quietness in our room and nice view of the city through the windows daily. Need to thank Nay Min Thant, the house-keeper who had spent a big effort to keep our room cleaned, changed the bed sheet, and top up toiletries. Regret that I had forgotten to take a photo of the high standard of bed sheet and blanked that he had set.

We loved their breakfast, though it is mainly Western menu, they do have Myanmar, Indian and Asian food as well. Their waiters and waitress are always on the look-out for any patrons that need help or service. Need to mention Saw Maccabe and Aye Mya Thu who served us during our breakfast, ensuring that our cups are always full with coffee or tea. Not forgetting Aung Thurein, who also helped my aged mother with her food when he noticed that my mother was walking quite unsteady towards our table.

Pan Pacific Hotel also gave my wife, who was celebrating her birthday, with a cake. Need to mention that Manager Cecilia brought up the cake to our room and sang a birthday song. My wife was really very touched and this is one of the her most memorable birthday celebrations in her life.

Our stay was not complete till we left the hotel. Need to mention and thank Then Phyo Aung, who helped us with the luggages to our taxi, without even us asking for his help. He reminded us to come back to Pan Pacific hotel when we come back to Yangon in our next trip.

Need to state that Pan Pacific Hotel is just a name, but it is their dedicated staff who have helped to uphold the brand. I will recommend this hotel to all who visit Yangon.

The hotel is very nice but the service was very disappointing. My father and I arrived in the evening and had to wait more than 30 minutes for our bags to be brought up. We called reception three times and they were extremely unhelpful. We finally received them and the bell boy did not even apologise for the delay (in fact he was smiling and thought it was funny). As a result of all this, we were late for our dinner reservation (restaurants in Yangon are generally not open late) so we went downstairs to grab a taxi and the bell boys didn’t even offer to help us. We stayed at both the Pullman and Pan Pacific Yangon during our stay in Yangon and I would strongly recommend the Pullman due to their higher and impressive level of service and professionalism, as well as its slightly better location.

Everything about this hotel is outstanding - the location, the room, food and the service.
They spared no expense on woodwork, lighting, separate electric day and night shades, electric shade in bathroom, top of the line heated self-cleaning Toto toilets that open when you walk in the water closet, marble bathroom and counters, etc. There are separate water closet and tub/shower enclosures and all amenities are included. Top of the line. Would definitely book this hotel again.

This was my first time to Yangon and I chose the Pac Pacific based on a friend’s recommendation. It did not disappoint! I booked a junior suite which was a very generous size. With my booking, the hotel also arranged complimentary airport transfers. The Pan Pacific lounge is excellent and worth having. Breakfast, afternoon tea, evening canapés and drinks all day. April, who was there every day during my stay was fantastic. She was extremely warm and welcoming, attentive, and explained various sites that we could see from the lounge.

I dined at both restaurants during my stay and both were very good. The concierge service, including Soe Moe, were excellent and assisted in arranging a private guide and driver to show me around Yangon. This was is truely worthwhile experience for any first time travellers to Yangon. Overall the staff across the hotel were excellent and friendly. The simple smiles and hellos from the housekeeping staff was a welcome touch (special mention to Raire who ensured the room was spotless). They clearly take pride in what they do!

The hotel is in a very central and convenient location. Connected to one of the main shopping malls, I expected the hotel to feel very busy. However I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel didn’t feel crowded or noisy.

I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Downtown Yangon is not an easy destination for most North American. So one needs calm and confort to cope with Myanmar most bustling city. This is what the pan pacific offered to my family of five when we visited in March 2020. Spacious rooms. Night shades. Super comfy beds. Excellent buffet breakfast and half price for kids at the dinner buffet. Great food Variety there too. But what stands out of the experience is the Burmese hospitality. The pan pacific staff is always willing to help. And do a little extra for you. Nora in particular was such a sweetheart. On top of all the pertinent dining recommendations, she even negotiated with a laundry service to get us a better price. (We had tons of dirty clothes) She took care of our family like she was part of it. She even arranged to have a birthday cake delivered to our room when she heard it was my daughter’s bday a few days earlier. We’ll miss you Nora !
During your stay you will also come across the hotel general manager, H.P. (as he introduced himself to us) as he always wanders around the hotel to greet his guests with a smile. I believe Great managers go where the action is. Mr. H.P. sure leads by example.

This hotel goes out of its way to please. Somehow they immediately noticed we had a birthday to celebrate and whisked up a delicious cake that was presented by smiling, singing staff. The weekend continued in a similar vein. The rooms are lovely, with large sumptuous beds, beautifully equipped high tech bathrooms and best of all for me a great coffee machine that even had decaffeinated coffee. The breakfast buffet is extensive and has options for all cultures. Although we didn't get to use it, the infinity swimming pool is set in a beautiful garden and looked extremely inviting. There is a good range of spa options, though rather expensive for us. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the staff, having to mention Shafin who went out of his way to charm us, for a superb birthday celebration.

We stayed here for a night to complete our trip through Myanmar. Our room was nice and on par with what I would expect for a five star hotel in SE Asia. The breakfast had a rather large spread that lined the long side of the dining room and was excellent. Overall, I felt the service of the hotel was lacking from my experience traveling through SE Asia and 40+ countries. At check-in, I did not feel like I had a warm welcoming and the front desk was more attentive to a regular guests walking by despite being in the process of checking us in. I would say we normally would stay in this level of hotel while traveling in SE Asia. When we got to our room our shower was not properly draining and we could constantly hear the sound of water in the drain. The staff asked several questions and was somewhat resistant to come look at the shower. In the end the service person who visited my room ended up having an engineer come up and fix the shower drain. If not for the service, I would stay at the hotel again given its breakfast and location above a shopping mall. However, the hotel’s service did not give me the welcoming experience I expect and would put me off staying here again.

There are local taxi's and Grab taxi's, which hotel Concierge team would typically assist guests to arrange. The case described was an isolated incident, which the police is investigating.
