Due to many situations in Myanmar, we understand the hotels cannot operate as usual so I wouldn't say we had the perfect experience but the hotel was very good enough to give out a review for. The rooms were one of the most beautiful and functional ones that I've ever seen. I can see that they give great time to the designs and functions. The bed was cozy. The master light switch beside the bed works the magic pretty well and the ceiling was beautiful at night. The bathtub was pretty wide and i love that they give out anti slip mats cuz if it wouldn't be for them, i'd already slipped and cracked something. All in all, the room was very good. Very clean too. Since the location is alil bit out of downtown, the views cannot be extraordinary but i do think the hotel is quiet and secluded on its own. It is a pretty great location if you know the way. We didn't have a chance to try the breakfast downstairs. We might as well be the only people there so they managed to send us out breakfast in bed. The food was normal but I can see the staffs were kind. There was no butter to our bread, no fruit and only one cup of coffee for two people. I wish they'd give us a lil bit more variety eventho it was a breakfast in bed. But I'm sure we would have have better experience if the hotel operation was running normal as before so I'm willing to give out another try at their food. The gym and the pool was great. The food and drinks were not overpriced. I would definitely give this hotel a try again. The hotel was really underrated. I wish people know more about this place. Business like this, I wish they can remain in the market.

We stayed in this hotel in a standard room for one night in January at the end of a 3 and a half week tour of Myanmar. This hotel stood out as the only hotel we stayed in in Myanmar with big problems. On arrival the hotel was visually nice, as was our check in and the room was also nice. The hotel is relatively new and still very well presented. After we had settled into the room we went down to the restaurant for a late lunch. We were one of only 2 tables for lunch and we ordered 2 local prawn curries. Both the service and the food were excellent and we left impressed. We then went to the pool bar to relax. We chose the only poolside lie back chairs with an umbrella open over them. One lady asked for the umbrella over her chair to be opened and after several attempts by two staff to open it and the whole thing collapsing on the lady she decided to move elsewhere out of the sun. We overheard that it was known to be faulty so why was it still out for guests to use? I ordered 2 Piña colada’s and the barman looked at me with a blank look. After a wait and discussion with another barman our drink arrived from elsewhere in the hotel. The drink was excellent however. Then we retired to our room to relax and send some emails. All was going well until I noticed the room warming up and on inspection of the Air conditioning controls I could see a fault code displayed. I phoned reception and they sent a technician up. He had a ladder and looked up in the ceiling at the filters which were fine, then there was a knock at the door and there were 3 staff out in the corridor, none of whom spoke enough English to be able to understand them. We were being moved to another room across the corridor which was fine but they wanted to move us immediately. It was difficult to explain to them that we had clothes hanging up and toiletries in the bathroom and it would take us 10 minutes to get ready. We began to repack and were moved to a similar room with a better view and the room was good. We had no further trouble with anything in the room. Early evening we went down to the restaurant and were surprised to find we were the only people dining. Initially the service was excellent, we ordered a local fish curry which the restaurant manager had told us the chef would make for us even though it wasn’t on the menu. Once again the food was absolutely delicious, there is no doubt they have an excellent chef. It was then we noticed a large number of mosquitos and my wife started to get some bites. We wanted to leave but it was difficult to attract the attention of the waiting staff who were now pre occupied with room service meals. As soon as we could we escaped back to our room. The restaurant was a totally different story in the morning. Initially we were the only diners once again which surprised us as the breakfast buffet was enormous and hugely varied. As expected the food was delicious. Then we noticed the mosquitos again, worse then the previous evening and the restaurant manager we had met at the previous days lunch came to us and explained that they had a mosquito problem and they were working at fixing it. It has to be said that this was our only experience with Mosquitos in the whole of Myanmar and it was a bad experience! It was after this that a Chinese tour group entered the restaurant and suddenly chaos. We left soon after and went back to our room. On check out we agreed to leave the deposit on the card we presented when we checked in but used a different card to pay the balance owing. When she attempted to use the card in the eftpos terminal for some reason it didn’t work (just a MasterCard) so she tried another terminal which appeared to be the same. So she produced a 3rd portable eftpos terminal and finally it worked and we left the hotel. The fun started when we arrived home and discovered a double charge on my credit card. The hassle we had to go to and the lost sleep through the irritation of it all were astonishing. There were numerous emails, some with up to 5 people copied into them and after a frustrating 10 days they came to the conclusion it actually hadn’t happened at all and was in fact our error!! We were stunned, it was clear from the communication that total incompetence was rife both at the hotel and at their two banks they used. I noticed the Hotels General Manager was copied into one of the emails so I contacted him direct and after a few more days a credit along with an apology was issued. I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether to use this hotel or not, despite the good reviews!!
