With all honesty, the location is not bad. The climb up to the 5th/6th floor is a chore but still acceptable. The internet keeps dropping but when it works is reasonable speed. But what irked me was how terribly stingy they are. We went down for breakfast and they were out of fried rice so we got noodles thinking it...

My boyfriend and I usually stay at Motherland 2, but wanted to try something different for a few days in Yangon. The location of Sunflower is very convenient - two minutes from Bogyoke Market and Sule Pagoda. But the head staff are awful (the less senior Burmese staff very nice, though) and will show you terrible rooms at first unless...

I found this hotel by luck. On the night I strolled around Aung San Market, someone show me this place and surprisingly I found it in Lonely Planet guidebook. I booked for a single room with fan for only 10$. With aircon it was 15$, double room is 18$. If you just want a place to stay overnight among many...

We were staying at Beautyland II and got feel up with the broken aircon, dirty sheets and towels, so we decided to find something else. Upon entering Sunflower from the hot, bustling, dirty streets bellow, you're greeted by chilly aircon, pleasant smells and a cold glass of lime juice. Convenient location, right by Scotts Market, Nooch, APK Thai Kitchen, New...

On arriving to a much looked forward to trip to Myanmar, we made our way to the Sunflower Hotel. We ended up in the standard room as shown in one of the photos on TA, and quickly learned that this hotel has a LOT to learn about customer service. The reception: The girls behind the reception are quite pleasant, but...

We stayed here on our arrival in and departure from Burma. The location is really near the Scott market and easy walking to Sule pagoda and The Strand Hotel. It is on a major street so although the street facing rooms have great views, sleeping is hard so the "backside" ones are probably better (we stayed in both types). Breakfast...

stayed here on out last 2 nights in Burma, on the plus side its good for walking to the sights and bars at night, however on the minus side for $50 a night the breakfast was poor and asking for another cup of coffee we were informed we would have to pay for it. Room was clean and spacious but...

I stayed in Jan'13 and paid $20/night for a twin room which by all accounts is good value for Yangon now. Up on the fifth floor a few steps to climb but that doesn't bother me, room was clean enough (a few ants around, just don't leave food out!) if a bit run down, was happy with an internal room...

I stayed in this hotel for upwards of 20 nights during December and January. Since I was in for a long stay, I spent some time looking at other guesthouses and hotels in Yangon. Compared to what I saw, this hotel offers competitive and superior value. (Warning: long review. I feel I owe it to you since my own search...

We stayed at this guesthouse last week on recommendation of another traveler. This guesthouse is in the guidebooks, so they get customers no matter what. On reading previous reviews, it sounds like they decided they really don't need to keep up the place given this fact. We saw a family room with a private bathroom for $28 and a double...

“Floor 5/6 are the Standard rooms ($20), room 606 was my favorite (double check that it is the corner room), with balcony overlooking the intersection. No TV. 507 is a bit of a makeshift room, small but cozy. The inside rooms have no windows (like 506/505). 506 needs to be refurnished but spacious and TV.”
