During a brief overnight stay arriving at night we were greeted by the manager who also escorted us to the room and introduced the floor butler who would take care of anything we required. We were offered supper in our beautifully restored spacious colonial room with all the mod cons. It was suggested our breakfast be delivered to the room...

We came here to check out one of the more upscale bars in Yangon. The vibe is cool and the service was so great. The drinks are surprising very well priced. Great pool table out the back and amazing photos of historic Yangon to check out.

A beautiful building, nicely restored, but we had clunky service both nights we stayed there. The airport pick-up didn't arrive, our room wasn't ready, so changed to a noisy room above the bar, and the breakfast service was just appalling. A grand hotel that would benefit from some competent management.

They have a whole book to cover the hotel's long history. Mark Murraybrown (Ops Manager) was a charming host during our 4 day stay. The Strand road is very busy by day and the river view is gone at ground/street level. There is no swimming pool nor rear garden, yet... So after being closed for most of 2016 the interior...

We had high expectations from this hotel and it mostly didn't disappoint. The hotel has a very grand appeal to it and the rooms, lobby, everything about it just had a fantastic colonial appearance. It made you feel special just by being here. We stayed 3 nights and they weren't without their issues. Firstly our door didn't lock upon closing...

A super swish hotel where service and attention to detail is second to none. Situated near the port, the hotel is a 3 floor colonial style building built in 1902 and recently renovated to a very high standard. High ceilinged colonial luxury updated by extremely tasteful contemporary interiors, the hotel has been host to many famous visitors like Rudyard Kipling,...

We have had 3 nights at The Strand and are so pleased we will return again after further travels in Myanmar. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the service the best we have encountered anywhere in our travels. It's well located, within easy walking distance of a number of major attractions and restaurants.

When we finally got out of the customs, we walked through the typical parted crowd of drivers of any Southeast Asian airport, looking for our names. But nothing. After looking around incredulous for five mins, we call the hotel, where apparently they had no record of our reservation at all (funny, because not only we have a confirmed reservation, but...

An outstanding hotel now completely refurbished. Similar in many ways to 'Raffles' in Singapore, but nicer. Situated by the British and Australian Embassies and the port. We stopped here for a cocktail and game of billiards. If you want to be down-town I would really recommend.
