First time in Yangon for a new business contact and I was advised to try this hotel instead of one of the BIG brands downtown. Brilliant tip. As a very frequent traveller I'm not impressed by another modern, efficient but soulless chain hotel. As soon as you arrive at the Savoy it oozes charm from every corner and the super...

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about The Savoy Hotel, are the staff - whether they are front desk, wait staff, door men, cleaning staff - they are all without fail lovely people, genuine, warm and very happy to help. Service at breakfast and by the pool was exceptional. As to the hotel itself, it's a...

A charming oasis in the heat of Yangon. The place oozes class, yet is not stuffy. Wonderful facilities!!! The pool courtyard is full of plants, trees, and has bougainvillea growing all around. In fact it is so welcoming, my husband and I booked a third night at Savoy upon returning from our visit to Inle Lake! The staff are super...

This is a beautiful old colonial hotel. It is clean, spotless in fact, and has wood everywhere. It is noticeably quiet with only 3 floors and no elevators. The pool is nice and the food I had was very good. The room itself is spacious with all the amenities. I didn't find it that comfortable though - the bed was...

I have spent two nights on this hotel. Location was very good at walking distance to the Shwedagon Pagode, but walking is not easy in Yangon. Too many cars and no traffic lights designed to allow people on foot to cross the roads without risk. The Savoy hotel made a very good impression to me. I have requested a transfer...

it is a perfect oasis from the hustle (and grime) of Yangon. The hotel has a great colonial feel down to the minute details in the room. The staff is very friendly and the pool is nice. Stayed one night only. Perfect location, nice pool area, atmospheric building and spacious room with wonderful wooden floor (no 206). Has a lot of charm. Breakfast is a bit meager, but perhaps that's Burma... I would go back. About 20 mins drive from the airport.
