With the demand for hotle rooms exceeding supply (for now) in Yangon, all hotels are expensive and this is no different. However see my below: * Very pleasant colonial ambiance. * Lovely wood floors * Located within walking distance of the Shwedagon Pagoda * Great view sof the Pagoda - especially at night when it is illuminated * High staff...

We arrived in Myanmar to the noise and traffic of Yangon but soon relaxed when taken to our hotel. It was a lovely resorted colonial building full of lovely teak wood and had lots of charm. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast buffet was good and the breads superb. The wifi was...

Beautiful colonial building with lots of history gives a very nice atmosphere. Friendly and very helpful staff. Nice dining room with good breakfast. Location at busy road but very close to Shwedagon Pagoda (walking distance). Room was large but bit dated. Bathroom is too small. Hotel has a very nice pool but does not have sufficient pool side beds, which...

Dear Bas V, Greetings from the Golden Land! Thank you for your review and I am delighted you had a good time. I apologize about the shortage of sunbeds around the pool, however, this is because we are a small property and we do not want to overcrowd the pool area. However, thank you for bringing it up and we...

The Savoy is a charming small hotel with architecture and decor that reflects Yangon's old colonial past. We arrived in the morning and they had a room available for early check-in, as requested. However, the room had twin beds - not something you want on an anniversary trip. They were most apologetic and moved us to another room the next...

This is a small but adequate boutique hotel located in a desirable area of the city. Rooms are decent in size and overlook a pleasant interior courtyard with a nice sized pool. The staff is first rate and very friendly. Buffet breakfast is adequate with an egg station and, as it caters to westerners, the foods are mostly for the...

We did not expect real international standards for the price point; we were neither disappointed nor surprised. Yet the hotel provided a very pleasant experience. CONTEXT - Having just opened up to the outside world, Myanmar is still better for those travelers who are not afraid of non-westernized, developing destinations, the type of travelers who want to see it while...

After researching Yangon hotel options, I had Tour Mandalay book the Savoy because of location, and its size. We stayed on three separate times (five nights and six days, keeping our room until a late night flight) during our Myanmar travels from September 12 to October 18. It is also closer to the airport than downtown hotels. Located on a...

We had not possibility to book this hotel in our first visit of Yangon and did it only for our return way. It is unsurprisingly because hotel is really very small. We stayed here at one night.
