Nice hotel with a very friendly staff. Practically all the staff had a working knowledge of English. This was fantastic since I can neither read nor speak Korean. Their guidance was helpful to practically anywhere I wanted to go. They even called for transportation and translated to the drivers for the places I needed to go. I didn’t have a chance to visit any of their dining establishments. Though I’ll definitely do that next time I’m in Seoul. The shopping in this area was great. From budget to luxury, everything was within walking distance. Nearby food options was also great. Definitely walk around the area for nice experience.
The hotel is in a great location and very clean! We arrived before check in and they did not allow us to check in early. They stored our bags for us and we went to the buffet at the hotel. The hotel is close to street food vendors, restaurants, cafes, and shopping. The room was large enough to accommodate the three twin beds we had. The girls at the front desk were very helpful with directions and showing us places on maps on our phones. The subway stop is also close by. Would definitely recommend this hotel and it’s great location.
Stayed for 9 nights and trying both the standard room and breezy suites. The suites was amazing. I love the room layout and the spacious bathroom. They also provide room for storing your luggage. The hotel location is within walking distance to Lotte Dept Store, Shinsegae, Myeongdong Night Market, subway station, and limousine bus to the airport. The breakfast however is sufficient but not fulfilling. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The manager even helped me to get my phone charger when I forgot. Overall, I would definitely stay in this hotel again in the future.
Great hotel with very helpful front desk staff - most speak English sufficiently to communicate. We requested an extra bed and within an hour, it was delivered and made up for us. Rooms are not huge but sufficient for sleeping. We did spend mornings indoors as it was quite cold. Didn't feel too cramped but definitely not spacious, especially with an extra roller bed. We stayed with 2 other families each taking 2 rooms. We managed to secure adjoining rooms for our family but no internal door. Laundry facility within the hotel was particularly useful. Less than $10 to use the washer and dryer. Location is excellent with both Myeongdong and Euljiro 1 subway stations nearby. Around the corner from the Myeongdong shopping street and good food (street food and restaurants and cafes) all in the area. Underground malls also just a short walk away. I wouldn't call this a luxury hotel, but rates are decent and booking via various apps gives a discount and cash back depending on your jurisdiction. We booked via Singapore.…
Some good points and some bad ones. The location is convenient. On the right of the hotel the shopping streets begin. Underpasses lead to the Lotte Dept Store. The prices are lower than other hotels in the location. The coin laundry is useful if you are on the road for a while. Bad points: the rooms are small. I was in a triple and with the extra bed there was no room to walk or put luggage. They need to use only the larger rooms for triples. Also there is an inconspicuous button for do not disturb that I didn’t know was pressed. It’s backlit so couldn’t read it. So they didn’t do my room. When I came back I asked for fresh towels and they only had hand towels in the entire hotel. They need to buy more towels. This is a no frills hotel with a tiny lobby but I get that for the price you have to sacrifice some things.…
Disappointing stay at a Gold Elite member guest. The only benefit I got is a 2pm check out. Cancelled my weekend stay as housekeeping’s cleanliness is non existent. Coworkers checked in and got allocated on a loyalty member floor. They are both not Bonvoy members and they booked through Agoda.com and not direct. Could have gotten a better room if I didn’t book direct and probably cheaper too, if it’s not for the points. For 2 straight days, housekeeping did not change the used cups and left them in its original state. I dropped the hotel guide on the floor as I was rushing to leave for work and they did not bother to place it back in the original state on the desk. Complained to front desk before dinner about this and came back to old cups being placed back to the toilet and the hotel guide on the desk but the binding not secured. I know the cups were dirty and not replaced as I drank my vitamin C in the cups and it’s leaves an orange residue on it. I can still see the residues at the bottom on the cups. Quite shocking to see how lazy housekeeping is even after I complained. Location is great in the middle of Myeongdong but there are tons of other options in the area. Avoid if you are a clean freak.…
PROS- Marriott level of cleanliness and Location. Comfortable bed. accessible water and ice dispensers. SERVICE was good with some but not all. Kudos to the MALE front desk staff (Noontime duty nov 19,2022) who was fluent in english as well and very accomodating which we forgot to get the name. CONS- No considerations on early check in (MARRIOTT BONVOY higher level member). I booked my room at US$130 rate average a night (Nov2022) for 5 nights this was the cheapest kind of room... upon arriving early we attempted to check in early for free or at least pay a minimal fee for early check in (around 1030am -12nn) since regular check in time is 3pm. VERY DISMAYED that they told us that its US$285 for early check!!!! WOW THAT IS MORE THAN DOUBLE the full price/our nightly rate! this offer was the most unwelcoming ever! another cons....needs update on shower fixtures, faucet, and ALL ELECTRICAL PLUGS! when you expected that you have charged 100% batt of ur phone, powerbanks and cameras...... ready for next day activities... turned out next morning ALL BATTERIES are still drained and was NOT CHARGING the whole time .... chances are that the extension cords or ur chargers fell or are not well plugged since u need to push harder for the plugs to work. i have stayed at this hotel several times since they opened when everything was still fresh and new. I have tried almost all types of room as a returning guest from the suite corner room to the bigger twin room to the smallest and cheapest room ...Returned regularly till early 2020 and rooms were still fine. fast forward August 2022, rooms were visibly looking tired compared to how it used to be and different feels from pre pandemic era. We had to change our room since all electrical plugs were overused. shower heads were leaking or is not properly working. shower area was flooding. Thankful that we were offered to be transfered to a bigger and higher marriott loyalty floor room. Returned again Nov 2022 for supposed to be 5 nightstay BUT opted to transfer to a diff hotel on our 3rd onwards since they did not offer to change our room this time .... We had exactly the same room facility problems as AUG 2022 stay! (meaning mostly room showers and electrical plugs have problems as well as shower flooding). Hopefully they will have regular checks to maintain marriott standards. Toilet needs REGULAR MAINTENANCE CHECKS--Showers- we experienced this 3x on 3 diff rooms.... shower heads keeps falling and sliding down not stable enough while in use. fell several times on our head so you have to be mindful or just hold it while showering.…
for first time visiting Seoul, Aloft doesn't get any better. it's in a prime location close to bus stations + a short walk from the subway station. it's in a corner section of Myeondgong by food and shopping so you don't have to walk far to be entertained. the hotel itself is clean and very pretty. it feels very safe even though it's on a super busy street. the staff is excellent and they can all speak english which is really comforting and helps when asking for advice. the rooms are very clean and super nice. it can be noisy depending on what side you are facing as they have some holiday decor across the street and construction but it's not too bad!
As this was an impromptu trip with golden girls, we opted for a hotel that was extremely convenient for dining and shopping, and of course Aloft did not fail to deliver. The hotel is near the metro, it is very clean and provided the necessities and more; the reception staff was very kind and patient with the guests, and they speak excellent english!
Too bad that they have no cutlery provided during middle of the night. What is the meaning of 24 hours services when they cant even provide a chopstick/cutlery for my late night snack? Winter Time, It was freezing outside, bad services and bad attitude. I will not come to this hotel again. Bad memories. 當你在深夜12點的時候, 買了宵夜卻發現沒有餐具, 於是你到前檯打算要拿不到, 多少好評也是沒用的, 連這一點小事也做不到. 外面太冷了, 難道真的要在外面便利店拿嗎?
