Stayed there in the winter and by myself. Arrived past mid-night and the gentleman at the reception stayed behind specially for me. We chatted a lot during the morning and evenings during my stay. The staffs are friendly as well. The only "complaint" is the room being too hot but there is an air conditioner and small window to have...

I feel like scores given to this hotel has been over rated. In general hotel in Myeondeong is rather expensivce for its standatd. Needless to say the location is good for shopping and eating but you have to sacrifice comfort of accomodation. The room which I stayed was about 8m2 and just simple shower nozzle was in the toilet room,means...

Being located 1.5 minutes away from the Myeongdeong centre means that you can easily avoid the noice at night. The staffs here are very friendly, and even allowed me to store my luggage here for a month while I was volunteering in Daegu! There's a washing machine and you can hang your clothes at the balcony. As the photo suggests,...

Travelled here in the harsh Korean winter in Dec 2013 with my wife and we both absolutely loved the place and agreed that it was our favorite place to stay during our trip of Asia. As previous people have mentioned, warmed floor heating just made it a paradise in the cold winter and returning here after a full day of...

All around the hotel are shops, cafes, restaurant & supermarket as well. Athough the rooms are small, its well equiped & its very cosy especially during winter & early spring due to...

It was a great place to stay in Korea. Occupied 5th floor to 7th floor. Great service from the reception. Good for those who do not spend much time in the hotel. Location:- 1. Located in Myeong Dong, one of the busiest shopping district in Korea. 2. Less than a min walk to airport bus station (right behind the building)...

I arrived early because my flight landed Seoul super early. Luckily, I could check in before their normal check-in time because they had a room available. This was a very positive point. However, there is no window in the room. That was the negative part. If I had waited till regular check-in time, I might have been given a room...

Stayed here for six nights with my family on 2 double rooms. The rooms are clean, with good air conditioning, a ref, free wifi, breakfast of juice, milk, coffee, eggs, bread, cup noodles served everyday. Water and PC use available at the lobby. Room size is very small, with very limited space to put your stuff let alone move around....

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
