When arriving there was nobody at the reception for more than 2 hours. I had to wait freezing and wondering about people coming from outside to get water from the tap. When the receptionist arrived and I showed her my reservation she first ignored me, then rudely claimed I had no reservation and should leave the place. I was forced to find a new place, which was really difficult since it was weekend. What I saw there was just a mess, garbage, old rotten “food“,'stench... Horror scenario. The pictures on booking.com are all fake. The place is hidden in a small side street full of garbage, rats etc. Avoid this place at all costs! Not even for free!!! I don wanna give any points but it is not possible unfortunately, if,.I would give it minus 2000!
Good location and nice price. Room was a little old fashioned but was clean. The staff spoke Japanese as well as Korean, but don't recall any English speaking. Just try to avoid the room with the huge flashing sign right outside the window!
I had so many bug problems. Poor design for the bathroom and the fact that the rooms did not have shower curtains. This has been the worst hotel I've ever been to. Although the pricing was very cheap and that may be what some people look for it is definitely not worth it, if I were to bring my family along I would rather pay that extra money to live at a better hotel. It was disgusting bugs were everywhere and it seemed as if they just put in a new set of blankets and did a crappy cleaning.
The location of this hotel is really great. Just a few steps from Dongdaemun metro station, 10 minutes from shopping malls / street markets & surrounded by some night restaurants. About the hotel itself, the crew is very nice & willing to help. Rooms are spacious but really old fashioned (carpet on the wall, orange/brown colours, ...) and most of them (we stayed in 4 rooms) are noisy, either because they're facing the main street with noisy stores (loudspeakers) or the backstreet with delivery trucks. Despite these problems, it's still a good place to stay, with free wifi connection, but it's possible to find cheaper hotels (with the same quality) around.
Price is cheap so may be should not ask for much but at least it should not show 4 stars. The room is small and the hotel itself is old. Transportation is convenient as for station nearby. May be it is good for travelling alone whom just ask for basic stays.
This hotel is close to the Dongdaemun gate and the subway is right outside the hotel and the airport bus (No 6002) is 400 meters away. Reasonable location near the fashion market which is very busy at night but the sound proofing of the hotel is good. Rooms reasonable size though a little shabby- try to pay a little more for a better hotel if you can!
We were surprised while arriving the hotel. The staff on duty did not provide a greeting upon request for checking. The room was not prepared for a hotel room we normally used to. The light level in the room is too dim for reading or relax, so we decided to go out instead of staying in the room. The bathroom is also outdated in terms of fixing, but the hot water was running well as a surprise. As a new Agoda member, I wish the check and evaluation of the hotel can be more close to what it really is, so we can entrust the recommendation confidently.
Location is GREAT! Just above the subway in Dongdaemum so you can walk around the shopping malls there even at late night. However it is definitely cannot be regarded as a 4 stars hotel... The feeling of the hotel and the room are just so old and dirty... Staff's direction are not clear and they are not really helpful. I was asking something about the airport bus and their direction is just opposite... We finally took over 15mins walk to get there...
The hotel was recommended by our Korean business friends who we instructed to get us a below USD 100 a night room and they did at USD75. Very good location and budget wise you would spend less since you are at the city center. Do not expect the frills and fancy of a business hotel. This is good for a 4d/3 night stay for those who just need a sleep in and shop, shop, shop plus enjoy the sightseeing in wonderful Seoul.
We booked two rooms at this hotel but the conditions they were in were identical - small room, dark and grim, dirty old carpet, air condition that did not work. The best area in the room is the bathroom! I made a mistake of using their shampoo which not only I found out later I had to pay for but the previous occupier had mixed water in the shampoo to avoid paying for it. Staff spoke very limited English and it seemed they used that as an excuse not to take up your complaints. However, the location is great, its very central and close to lots of restaurants, shopping centres and local food and clothes market which open until late. The subway is also just outside the hotel so its convenient to travel anywhere within Seoul. There is only one computer access at the hotel reception area. I did not have meals at the hotel so cannot comment. I would recommend this hotel to travellers who are on tight budget and only use the hotel as their base to put stuff away and to sleep!…
