A very classic/ claassy hotel. Well located for either metro or taxi - with some attractions being within walking distance. The staff were all unfailingly superb. Special thanks to the pianists and double base player from 'the Library' who made evenings, after a hard day's touristing, so pleasant.
Immaculate and top notch service! Enjoyed our time at Shilla, one of the best hotels in Korea that we’ve experienced. Check-in and out was expedient and seamless. When we requested amenities, everything was delivered in time and with a smile. I applaud the professionals working at this hotel, very well done!
The staff are fantastic. There are ample staff and regardless of where you are in the hotel they are quick to offer assistance and tend to your needs. The rooms are a little older but immaculately maintained and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and we also thoroughly enjoyed a seafood platter from the bar area. Where not people who enjoy lounging around the pool so access to the indoor lap pool and spa pools as part of our room rate was sufficient. Access to external pools cost 75000 won per person per day. The seemed like a ridiculous cost especially when you considered we saw at most 6 patrons enjoying the pool, almost outnumbered by the staff. There are ample loungers around the pool providing seating for well over 100. The hotel definitely got busy is the weekend.
Staff was nice and nice view of N-tower. The bedd are super comfortable. Food is good but expensive. But room is quite old and my room was not cleaned very well (bathroom) and the last day, it was a lake in the shower/bathroom. for me price is too high for the quality.
The Shilla may have been legendary back in the day but with the newer luxury hotels that have sprung up around Seoul, it is hard to justify reasons to purposely choose to stay here. The interior is tired and the vibe is very pretentious. The rooms are dated and the layout screams 1980s. I was not impressed with the perks through the Amex FHR program. Breakfast at The Parkview was laughable. There was no upgrade. I guess the free shuttle to Myungdong was convenient, but the reason the shuttle even exists is to bring people to the Shilla Duty Free shopping center right next to the hotel. The entire operation overall seemed very money hungry while cutting corners, but I guess that's no surprise since they are owned by Samsung. I would not stay here again and regret not staying at the Four Seasons instead.…
I stayed at The Shilla Seoul last December. The only downside was it was a bit difficult to climb up to the hotel, especially during winter but the staff was very kindly to arrange a service car for us (They have a service car ready from the subway station to the hotel, and from the hotel to the station, so it was very convenient) FIVE STAR for the SERVICE! I've been to a few 5 star hotels globally, but this hotel was exceptional. Went to Korea during Covid, and right after VTL released between Singapore and Korea, so understood that the staff may not be aware of all the rules or protocols but they're kind enough to check with their teams in a timely manner and address all our questions very friendly. All the amenities and facilities were great too, so I'll definitely revisit this hotel again with my parents.…
I checked into Hotel Shilla today (Tuesday), paying extra for an executive room and lounge. I heard that their lounge was special in that they serve good meals and drinks four times a day. Right now, I am still waiting for more than 40 minutes just to get into the Executive lounge, and when I checked 10 minutes ago, there were 6 groups ahead of me. I understand that hotels are going through hard times these days, but Hotel Shilla Seoul definitely oversold their Executive lounge package. If you have seen one of their ads on that and thought about taking the deal, I suggest you to think again.
Perfect staycation. the room is well-appointed and clean and the facilities are very well maintained. Everyone, who are working in this hotel, is very friendly and nice. I stayed in May, the weather was a bit chilli to spend time in the swimming pool area, but they have the 'heat-up' sunbeds which I liked during my stay. as I booked an executive room i could enjoy their executive lounge both afternoon tea and happy hour. Due to COVID, i was able to have breakfast at Parkview and i really enjoyed! I will definitely visit here again. If you want to have a staycation at Shilla, i recommend you to book an executive room with Swimming pool access.
The Shilla located at a top of a hill so it is not as convenient on foot as most but this is a great business hotel. Plenty of taxis readily available. One of my favourite luxury hotels in Seoul. The service is attentive and the facilities are classical-modern-Korean decor and very well kept. The rooms are equipped with most power options to work in the room seamlessly. Dining options are good but not cheap. The Club floors are better than most with plenty of benefits. I was able to rent a battery charger and local mobile phone for a small daily charge. The gym is spacious and clean.
Me and my friend stayed there for 2 nights. Beds are comfortable. Staffs are always helpful. Customer Service is excellent and nice welcoming. Rooms are clean and filled up Luxury Amenities. We will definitely visit again to The Shilla.
