The room was spacious and equipped with a washer and a dish washer as well as a Microwave with other functions like a grill. The location was also good with a large shopping mall adjacent to the hotel. More selection of English Channels should be added to the TV program to make it better..
Located in the center of Gangnam, it is a very convenient place to explore Gangnam. It is connected to the department store and COEX mall, so you can get everything you need easily. The room was spacious enough to stay in, and it was also good that I could stay with my dog. All the staff members were kind, especially Jessica was outstanding in her job.
Dear Oakwood Premier Hotel, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful stay I had at your hotel. The facilities were impressive, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was also convenient, with nearby attractions like COEX mall and shops. The room service was also very responsive and met all my needs during my stay. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend the Oakwood Premier Hotel to others. Thank you again for a fantastic stay! Best regards, Ali
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 16days about a month ago in Jan. Their service was superb from the front desk staff to the maintenance team. The Room was clean, had a kitchen with all the necessary utensils, a fairly big refrigerator, laundry machine, big closet where we were able to put 2 big size luggages and a very comfortable bed etc,. That was all just perfect for us! We really enjoyed the Coex mall located right underneath the hotel. Many stores and restaurants for shopping and dining. Special thanks to Jessica Park, the Guest Relation Officer who let us stay a couple more hours for check out. She was so nice and accommodated our request in such a kind and professional way. Also huge thanks to Derrick Choi, Asst.Guest Service Manager who carried our luggages to the Coex air terminal where we could have a hard time to find or carry our luggage ourselves to. I have told many of my friends and relatives about the good experience we had with the hotel and I will definitely stay there again when we go to Korea. I strongly recommend it to anyone!! Room was super clean and very comfortable, staff were exceptionally nice and accommodating, and great location which conected with COEX. Very spacious room for family. Strongly recommended for family trip in Seoul.
It’s the one of the best hotels I’ve stayed. It’s a luxury hotel, and the Coex mall is just right there where you could walk to. And the subway (line no.2) is near as well to go to the Gangnam station, Hongdae or any other hot places.
Good Points: Space! If you need more space than an average hotel room, you can get a suite with 1 or 2 bedrooms and living room with kitchen and washing machine for about the same price or less as a hotel room in the Intercontinental next door. The aircon works well. Coex has lots of shops and restaurants that are moderately priced. This mall isn't the newest in Seoul - but it's practical. Concierge is professional. The lifts require key cards that bring you straight to your floor when you use them. Areas that need improvement: Bathrooms: They give these tiny bottles of shampoo and shower gel and bars of soap. Families use this hotel so it's not enough. When I checked in with my family there was one bottle only for all of us. So had to call for more. They should put some large pump dispensers for handwash shower gel & shampoo. Water temperature in the shower is hard to control. USB charging ports: Add some USB ports for charging in the bedside table and desk. Vouchers: If you book directly they give dining vouchers for the restaurants and bakery but beware how many can be used each time you dine. The restaurants are a bit pricey. Location: Quite a few taxi drivers didn't know how to get to the driveway where the taxi drop off point is. Coex is a big complex. Even when I give them the hotel card with the little map of it. Better get some written instructions or find out how to tell them in Korean in which part of Coex the hotel is located. The location is not that convenient for sight seeing because the historical center with all the palaces and museums is North of the river. Need at least 15-20 mins by taxi and evening rush hour is a nightmare. The gym: The gym isn't very accessible. Have to go to another set of lifts to get to the gym. Then you have to take off your shoes to go through the changing room to get to the gym itself. Troublesome if you are wearing gym shoes. Would be better if you could access the gym without going through the changing room. Then won't have to take off shoes. Washer dryer: The washing machine is a combo washer dryer. The drying is extremely slow. So had to put things on the drying rack. Would be good if they had a separate dryer on top of the washing machine. Check out time is too early: They should give a later check out than 11 am and that was after a very long stay. Standard should be 12 and if rooms are available 2pm for people who stayed many days. Marriott gives late check out for their valued guests.…
The hotel and particularly the staff were excellent. The room was clean and the housekeeping was excellent. Perfect location and convenience. Since the start, they were very welcoming, from checking in, welcome letters, fruit baskets, etc. Really thank you to Lily Choi to make my visit very welcoming. During the stay, I had some other issues that need help, with getting addresses or a quick translation, Iliana at the reception had been very helpful on all of my enquiries. Oakwood at COEX is very recommended.
Summary: Having debated between a few areas around Seoul, ultimately chose Oakwood and can't be more happier with this choice - connected to the Starfield COEX mall and near 2 metro lines (which you can get to walking through the mall). Also, the staff were courteous, helpful and attentive/observant. Can't ask for anything more! Would 100% do a return stay! Room Features: The washer/dryer and kitchen area was what gravitated me to choosing this location. For longer stays (like 2 weeks), this becomes quite an advantage. With the long days of sight-seeing and walking, it was just good to be able to heat up something in the microwave for a late-night snack. The room is also spacious so that added to the relaxing feel to simply "enjoy" the room itself! Minor Flaw: One tiny inconvenience encountered was related to the bathroom shower stall track (railing). It may have been installed incorrectly (the wrong way) as water ended up seeping out and onto the bathroom floor (not inside, to the tub). So the floor mat became all wet. There is a drain in the bathroom so you can "sweep" the water away. After the 2nd day or so, overcame this obstacle by using the shower mat to block the shower door. That had helped. ***TIP 1: Washer/Dryer Run - Cycle Time*** 1) Expect run cycle for a normal wash + dry time to run ~2 hours. Do this while you sleep :) 2) The machine will play a tune to indicate the entire cycle is complete. If you are using the dryer setting, it will continue to run every couple of seconds to prevent your clothes from wrinkling until you've taken your clothes out (note: you may need to hit the "Power" button first to unlock the door) - see tip 2 below ***TIP 2: Opening Washer/Dryer Door*** The machine needs to be completely "powered down" (in "off" mode). So, if you need to cancel your cycle, or to stop & open for any reason, make sure you do this: 1) Press the "Power" button to completely "power down" the entire machine first (you may need to press twice to first cancel & then power off)! 2) Then wait 2 minutes. 3) The door lock will then automatically release (you'll hear a gentle, "click" sound) There is a note written next to the door of the machine but it was written in Korean I used Google Translate which was a savior! Unfortunately, the instructions booklet (nor the label next to the door) did not mention how the door unlocks so I had to search online to figure out why the machine was still locked. Hopefully these tidbits helps future guests!…
Excellent stay. Stayed for conference. Very close to all amenities, and transport options with two subway lines almost immediately adjacent. Lovely hotel sparkling clean, wonderful welcoming staff who made every effort to help. As I was about to collect my left luggage I realised with horror that I hadn't retrieved my passport from my room, and they hurried to help so I wasn't inconvenienced. Excellent service. My only pickle is that to access the Starfield Mall or to come up from the mall, you need to change elevators, AND again to access the gym you need to step out and across the bridge past the very smoky casino. I'm personally used to having 24 hour gym access, and I forgot so my physiotherapist was not happy I didn't complete all my rehab exercises!
