Lotte Hotel Seoul earns high marks for its professional service, though some guests note occasional lapses. The hotel's upscale atmosphere, complemented by elegant lounges and luxurious accommodations, is frequently lauded. While the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and space, a few visitors mention the need for updates. Amenities receive positive attention, especially the generous breakfast and prime location, which offers easy access to local attractions. However, opinions on value vary, with some finding the price steep despite the quality provided.

My time at this hotel started with one of the bellhops escorting me and my small suitcase to the front desk, then up to the club lounge. all while being very professional

Check-in at the club lounge was very quick, and the person checking me in was very friendly and helpful.

My first impression of my room was that it was amazing and really big, in-fact this has been one of the largest rooms I have ever been in. The bathtub was large enough for me to fit in comfortably (which is rare even in the US). The main sink was a bit low though.

My first meal at the hotel was at La Seine and it was worth the price, and I made sure to eat enough to make the price worth it.

The bed was amazing and very soft.

The next day I went up to the club lounge to see what the light snack was, it was definitely very light. though afternoon tea did have a bit more verity of food. It should be noted that the views from the club lounge were impeccable.
The happy hour meal was much larger than both the light snack and afternoon tea, and there was plenty to drink as well. The food was very tasty and definitely ate my fill. I was able to get up early enough to have breakfast on my last day, and the spread for breakfast was amazing, they even had someone cooking in-front of you.

The staff throughout the hotel was amazing, and most of the staff did not have any real issues with English. In addition, the staff at the club lounge was very helpful and was able to provide some ideas for me to do even though most of the city was shut down for the lunar new year. Also, they were able to extend my stay for about an hour past my check out time.

I highly recommend staying at this hotel, this was so amazing.
The only downside is that I wish I could've stayed longer.

This is a top tier hotel where service excellence is clearly their top priority. From the moment you are dropped off in front to every step of your stay, the staff are there to greet and assist you. Our rooms, 2135/2137, we’re comfortable and well appointed. We had a view of N Seoul Tower. The room did not have a coffee maker, but had an electric kettle and supplied with instant coffee and tea. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo with a rain shower head as well as a handheld. The water pressure was excellent, for those concerned. The tub was deep, so stepping in and out should be done cautiously.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. It was very good with a wide variety of cuisines: Korean, American, Indian, Japanese, and Chinese.
The location is convenient to street food, high-end shopping, and subways. It’s also walking distance to iconic locations like Gyeongbokgung Palace, Myeongdong shopping district, and Cheonggyecheon river walk.
As our first hotel during our holiday, Lotte was a great experience to kickoff our trip to Seoul.

Stayed here for a girls trip and it was a great hotel for eating, shopping and sightseeing! Shopping and subway is right at the doorstep. The staff, and especially the concierge was super helpful as I was trying to make reservations for dining and sightseeing. Had some issues with my hotel tax refund after I left the hotel and they sorted it out right away. Rooms are generous in size, buffet bfast had a good selection.

A little disappointed that we didn't make it to sulwhasoo spa as it was all booked out (tried to make reservations a fortnight beforehand, but obviously not early enough as it was too popular! ).

Will stay again!

Tip - if u want any fine dining in Seoul, make sure you book well in advance!

If you are only looking at shopping at close proximity and good breakfast buffet spread and pay a premium for location, you may want to consider Lotte Hotel Seoul. We travelled as a family of 7 and booked 4 rooms for 6 nights. The rooms are rather old and 1 design feature that strike us as odd is the location of the bathroom curtain outside of the bathroom itself. We find it real funny, but a little inconvenient as 1 of the rooms are shared by teenage grandson and conservative Asian grandma. It is still a joke till today. Yes, granted that rooms are usually shared by close couples and the presence of curtain blink for a see-through bathroom is not important. But, the curtain is there for a purpose right? Because of the inconvenience, we upgraded their room to executive floor for a proper bathroom. The check in and communication process with the reception is not too ideal and smooth as the reception staff is not too fluent in English. Just a suggestion. We do appreciate reception staff to be able to understand and interpret so as not to get too frustrated at check in guest. Because of this experience, it did prompt us to re-consider Global Chain Hotel for our next Seoul trip though.

Oh dear. Was looking forward to ending our korea trip in 5 star luxury but this is not far off 3 star hotels we just came from. Booked 2 nights and certainly 5 star prices in lobby and food in hotel. No problems if its worth it and still cheaper than europe. Staff are polite and helpful but
1 small pool about 7 or 8m long with1/2 is reserved for members -saw 1 person doing laps and the other side is full of kids and their parents about 25 prople so basically unusable and this is the section reserved for guests. Apparently it would cost 4000 usd per year to become a member according to the pool staff? You need to pay extra for sauna use as well but it's summer and far too hot to use. Doesnt make you feel like a 5 star guest. Rooms are very dated and dark like it's back in the 80s despite having a deluxe room. My bedside lamp is crooked (broken) as is the lamp over the table and to top it off the door to the bathroom is a sliding door and there is a 2 cm gap at the top when closed so not fully contained when going to the toilet for sound and smells. Fortunately I am travelling with my son and we just laughed about it. One of the cupboard doors doesnt close because they are sagging and need to be lifted to close. Not worth the money and stayed in comparable hotels for about 100 to150 usd per night Needs alot of work to feel luxurious. Clean and prob only 3 to 4 stars in reality but gym and lobby look 5 stars. Would post photos if I could but I agree with the poorer reviews here. We have had a blast in korea and loved it but disappointing way to end our stay.

Stayed here in April 2022, just as the quarantine rule was being fully relaxed. Grabbed two rooms for our family. Hotel was accommodating even before our arrival, they've set our rooms on same floor, right across the hall. Even though our rooms were same rate (Deluxe Room - Main building), the street view rooms were bigger (versus the mountain/Seoul tower view room). If you have the option to choose between lounge for breakfast versus La Seine (buffet on ground floor), go with La Seine (hands down, much wider varieties of food selection and more comfortable tables). Swimming pool is pretty nice. Lotte Department store is accessible via basement floor, along with subway station. Japanese restaurant, Momoyama, is an excellent, world class sushi restaurant--bill to your room and you'll get a discount. All in all, great stay and will definitely come back!

What a lovely hotel! My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our tour of South Korea, and it was a fabulous home base. The hotel is stunning and rooms are well appointed & clean. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Seoul, and we were lucky enough to have a room overlooking Seoul tower! Definitely make sure to get a club access room, as it provides access to a stunning breakfast buffet, daily tea time and a happy hour that runs each evening for a few hours (that is basically an all you can eat buffet and open bar, how fabulous!). The club access provided a much better value for our room, as the other on site dining options are incredibly expensive (even breakfast) so having it included is a must otherwise it wouldn't have been worth it. If I were to return to Seoul, I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Would in general give the hotel 4 * as the rooms were small, the fridge bar overly pricey, and the lounge in Reception area has eye watering drink prices (about £20 for an iced tea etc). Location is at the heart of amazing shopping district, which helped as we landed right within the flood/hurricane and never needed to step outside. Gave the hotel 5* as reception staff were very helpful all round - thank you Lee Min for booking our baseball game!

We love staying at the Lotte Hotel Seoul every time we visit Korea. The location is perfect for sightseeing Myeong dong, Namdaemun market, Insadong, Hanok village and many nearby palaces etc. etc., as well as the basement restaurants & grocery stores. It’s also very convenient for taking the subway from Euljiro-1 stop (line 2) which is connected to the hotel.

However, one disappointment was the hotel no longer offers VAT refund after your stay, which was a distinguishing feature when we visited 4 years ago. We’ve also noticed some downgrade in service where 4 years ago, it made an indelible impression when we received a handwritten welcome note along with a small treat in our room when we checked in to our room as well as we previously enjoyed seeing elevator greeters dressed in beautiful Korean traditional costume, hanbok, but no longer offered. In addition, while I joined the Lotte reward program, I was never able to benefit from the points earned, unless checking out of Lotte and remain in Seoul for a few days, for the points to be banked to your account, which can be used at the duty-free store.

We still enjoyed our stay at Lotte hotel but we will likely consider staying at nearby competitor hotel since we would benefit more from hotel rewards program as a foreigner not making frequent stays in Korea.

I'm glad I didn't pay for this room myself, cos it wouldn't have been worth it. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the action in Myeongdong and the breakfast buffet was extensive and good but otherwise I found this stay disappointing for the price. The service at the front desk was average, not overly friendly or helpful, just OK - the service a the bar on the ground floor was even worse - but given the prices for both, is pretty dire. You expect a lot more than middling. The hotel buffet breakfast was delicious but unchanging, so if you're here for more than a few days it gets boring, quickly. The rooms are clean and functional but old school, I still have to hunt around the back of the bedside table to find a way to charge my phone next to the bed and despite the amount of furniture, there's not a lot of storage for clothes etc. The worst is the charges for basic tea and coffee that you make yourself from a sachet - charging for this is ridiculous and stingy, given the cost of the room. I definitely wouldn't stay here if I was paying my own money, there are plenty of other options that are better value.
