The metro hotel is in the myeondong district of Seoul which is one of the main shopping areas - there are other areas of Seoul which are potentially a little more upmarket but Myeondong has a very vibrant culture with everything from exclusive dress shops to market stalls selling local food. Its also within a 10 minute walking distance of...

This hotel is a treasured find! I love its location, behind the Eujiro-1 metro station with Starbucks and 7-11 just below, lots of eateries and in the middle of Myeongdong shopping area, right across Lotte department store, a short walk to airport limousine bus stop. Staff are very helpful and polite too. It is also nice to have the simple...

I stay in this place in the Easter of 2017 with my family. -The breakfast tastes better than my previous stay in 2015. -The hotel didn't provide T-money card and gift to kid like before but not a problem. - the laundry room is very busy, suggest the hotel to buy washing machine with speedy mode or provide more washing...

Very near everything in Myeongdong. Walking distance to sites within the area. If your going on a shopping trip, this is a good place to stay. It's near Euljiro 1-ga station and has many dining options around. Room size is good, bathroom is clean, bed and pillows are comfy, breakfast buffet was nice with a mix of Korean and International...

Stayed here with our kids and it has a fun vibe with its decor. The location is ideal. Shopping and food once you exit and coffee shops and restos are all around. The room is big and clean, and there's a Starbucks on the ground floor. There are cafes and convenience stores nearby that make it easy to get snacks...

Our 5 nights stay with Metro Hotel was a bliss. Location was near to Subway Station and in the middle of all attractions. Reception, House-keeping, security staffs were efficient, friendly and always willing to help. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and constant water supply (temperature, pressure) in the restroom. Breakfast were good for a hotel this size. My...

Arrived in Incheon and took the expressway bus to within a short walking distance of the hotel. Check in was seamless and friendly. Our son had booked through the hotel website which included breakfast. My husband & I had stayed in metro hotel for third times already because of its good value in terms of room, location and customer services. It's just 2mins walk from the Metro station exit 5/6 and located in the heart of Myeongdong. The room is with reasonable size (not as small as those cubical cell hotels in Japan). On...

Top Tip - book direct with the hotel for a free breakfast, and the prices are the same as with any online travel agent! The Metro hotel is a great find, and you can't go wrong staying here, the location is excellent being right in the middle of the major shopping district with literally hundreds of restaurants and cafes within...

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
