I have stayed here couple of times before as location is right in midst of Myeondong street. If taking train, exit 6 Myeongdung Station, turn left and turn left, 70 meters away. Room is clean and most staff were helpful and smiley. Only problems were that : 1) they gave a very tiny room for Queen sized bed with no...

Good 3 star hotel situated at the center of MyeongDong. The location is superb as the Subway station is less than 5 min walk. Hotel amenities are sufficient and basic. However, the hotel price rate is a little bit at high side.

We booked the hotel for the location in the middle of Myeongdong on the recommendation of a local friend who stayed there in the past. The location is fantastic; the hotel itself, a basic stay, within the expectation given the cost. The room was decent size, wi-fi was included, breakfast and a crib cost extra. There are better options for...

Stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days. We booked through agoda so i think we got it at a discounted rate. We chose the standard twin bedroom and did not have any issues with checking in or out. To be honest we chose this hotel as it was the only one we could find that had a sure smoking...

In the summer holiday, I went to Seoul for a trip. As we all know, Korea is a nice country for people to travel. There are various sorts of local culture to know. Savoy Hotel is the recommendation that I stayed in Seoul. It is located in Myeongdong---the most popular street for tourists to shop for in Seoul, so that...

Pls note all their rooms are smoking rooms. However, you can still request for no smell room. We travelled with young children (5 & 3 years old) and have requested for no smell room. Overall, we are satisfied with our 6 days stays in Savoy. Prime location and 3 mins walk to Myeongdong subway station. Old hotel room design ......

Savoy is located in the midst of Myeongdong - in the shopping district - and every night, the side streets are lined with stalls and street food. A hive of activity and you couldn't ask for a better location. The hotel rooms are clean, though a bit small. There is however 1 huge negative - there are no designated non-smoking...

Stayed 3 nights in Sep with my mum. The location is superb & very close to Myeongdong subway station. If you are tugging heavy luggage though, you'll find it exhausting because you'll have to tug your luggage up a few flights of stairs from the subway station. We experienced it ourselves and we've seen it happening a few times while...

Went to Seoul in July and decide to book this hotel because of its location and price. Took the limo bus from Incheon, paid about 18000 won and took about one hour to reach. Family Room is big, bed is comfortable The hotel is in the shopping zone and there are a lot of shop and restaurant. Pro: very convenient,...

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
