We stayed at the Sunbee for a week at the end of May 2013. It is in a good location in Insadong, which is popular with tourists and locals but is conveniently tucked away in a quiet side street. All the palaces are nearby, as is the big temple at Jogye-sa. And it is easy to get to other attractions...

The rooms are big, and beds really good. Bathrooms/shower is sensational. Could not beat location either. However breakfast is less than basic... and coffee machine does not come on till 9am - why? Coffee shop around the corner was my saviour! Recommend staying here - only 45 rooms and good value.

I was very happy with the Sunbee. It was almost perfect except for a few small things, but I'll get to that later. I think it's a very wise choice to make. LOCATION: This hotel is a great choice for any tourist. The Sunbee is tucked away on a quiet little street off the main thoroughfare of Insadong. On Insadong,...

First time in Korea so we thought we better stay in famous place. Since we want to visit historical places so we stay in insadong. We booked the family room. We arrive at night by bus and stop on a big street. The map on the hotel website is too simple. We have to wonder around until we find it....

I was really tired after 14 hours of jet life, but it was before the normal checkin time(2PM) when I arrived. It was a bit hard to find the hotel at first since not a lot of taxi drivers know the place. But after first time I had no trouble finding it. Upon arrival, I asked for an early check...

I booked this room based on the positive reviews/scores online. I thought it would be a good hotel, given the hotel it wasn't super cheap either. We arrived at the hotel (it's not that easy to find in the back roads of Insadong but still fairly centrally located). We got our key and went up to our room. The room...

We booked a room via email which was easy. The location is good as its close to two metro stations and just behind insadong street. Our room was large with a tv, free wifi, large bathroom. They should put a shower screen or curtain as the room got soaked when taking a shower. The bed was a UK super king...

We stayed there for 4 nights during our stay in Seoul and booked the triditional korean condo room. It's quite simple to find the bus by exit 11 at the aiport and we ride bus 6002 all the way to near the hotel, which then took around 10mins walk to the hotel. It was some surprise when we just got...

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sunbee, it was an excellent value for what we paid (under $100). We had no problem finding it, despite what previous reviewers said. We took the airport bus #6011 to Anguk Station, crossed the street and walked down Insadong-gil. At 6-Insadong-gil, we turned right (there was even a small sign on the corner...

Sunbee hotel was one of our favorite places we stayed at in all of Korea. The staff was so friendly. We had a mix up with the dates of our reservation and they were so nice and friendly and helped accomodate us. The location is great...very close to the street that turns into a market and street food hang out...

Staying in Insadong

Neighbourhood Profile
Insadong
Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts, fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in particular has become a local institution for its unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops inside that sell handmade crafts and goods. This is the perfect neighborhood to sample a range of Korean dishes, with vegetarian Korean temple cuisine restaurants being a popular draw, but street food carts are just as famous. As a top tourist destination, crowds can swell, particularly on weekends, but you can find some rest and respite in one of the private art galleries or grab a cup of Korean tea in a tea house – many of which are located in beautifully renovated traditional Korean homes.
