We had booked for a night's stop over at Seoul. We were so tired after - (a) 9.5 hour flight (b) 2 hour long queue at the immigration and (c) 2 hour journey by Airport train + bus # 162 from Seoul Station. You need to get down at Wonnam-dong intersection. The listing at Agoda said the rooms were "air conditioned". However, when we tried to cool the room down (after a very long & tiring day), the AC didn't seem to work at all. When enquired at the reception, the manager seemed to say (or this is what we understood, to our horror) - (a) AC doesn't work sometimes and (b) we needed to open the windows to get cool air. Didn't want to argue as we were only for a night & we'd be flying away in the morning. Raised a complaint with Agoda at 12:30 AM (around midnight) about this & we checked out in the morning quickly. We dozed off despite the constant traffic noise from the window (guess our tiredness put us to sleep). Some positives - rooms were adequately sized & this place was centrally located (accessible to Dongdaemun market, Gyeongbokgung Palace etc.). Would I stay with them again? Maybe not. …

1. Value for money. Self service but you wont be needing staff to carry your baggage. Very convenient. 2. Clean facilities (everyday our room is cleaned and towels, water, cups are replaced. No need to inform the staff) 3. English speaking staff at reception, very accommodating too. Asked them to book our airport transfer and i was booked right away. 4. Jongno-gu is a very beautiful place, historical and surrounded by palaces. There are convenience stores nearby and many restaurants too. 5. Rooms are spacious and well heated. Our visit in Korea is the coldest so far.

Second time I have stayed here. It is pretty convenient for two rail routes into the main station and adjacent to an airport bus route. Hotel is welcoming with decent rooms and good service. Breakfast is served with a large variety of food to account for cultural tastes. There is no restaurant so plan to go our for dinner.

Stayed here couple of times for a family visit and visiting friends. The facility is immaculate and pristine. Cant really complain. showers are spacious and they offer towels and cleaning service at scheduled times every day. What I love most about the rooms are lighting and temperature system and the bed as well. The bed is so comfy Employees are kind and welcoming.

We spent two nights in a twin-bed room. Impressed with the unparalleled hospitality experience and facilities. The room was very comfy, clean, and well maintained. Also the breakfast was excellent and the staffs were very polite. Will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and hope to stay again at Mayplace when we have chance.

I stayed at May Place hotel for several days in a twin bedroom, and I would recommend this hotel to my friends or anyone who is planning to visit Seoul. This place is located conveniently nearby the palaces of Seoul. It is also a couple bus stops away from Insadong as well. If you are looking to visit palaces in Seoul (yes, there are more than one palace in Seoul) then this is the place to lodge. Furthermore, with Seoul housing prices going berserk, this hotel offers a clean and luxurious experience for a reasonable price. If you are debating between other hotels nearby, like I did, then go with this one and you wont regret it.

Comfortable rooms and good location make this hotel a good and quiet place to stay in Seoul. Two metro stations are within 10 minutes walk and the restaurants of Insadong are within 20mins of easy walk. The only caveat is the presence of frequent tour groups which might make elevator access quite a challenge.

Stayed in a family twin room with its two beds and its size bigger than other rooms. It was clean and comfy as usual. Recommend to those who travel to Seoul and has plan to visit Changgyeong palace or Changdeok palace which are located at walking distance.

We were offered complimentary breakfast vouchers which was good because we didn’t know where we could find an early breakfast before heading out for the day. Breakfast starts at 7am but by the time we got organised after a late arrival it was 8am. There is a basic western breakfast (juice, fruit, tea, coffee, cereal - and eggs which are on the Korean side) and a Korean breakfast with more variety. I would suggest going early as an early rush might consume most of what is on offer until the staff catch up and can bring out more. I preferred the Korean breakfast, my wife preferred the western breakfast but wanted more variety.
