Appreciate the comfort of a Japanese hotel anytime and anywhere. The Good: auto toilet bowl was comfortable; good quality toiletries were provided (you get facial foam, toner and emulsion in addition to the usual); beds were super single and comfortable; triple sharing room has a spacious lounge area for hanging out and eating; lots of space to hang clothes and put our makeup/toiletries to doll up; love the deep tub; aircon was adjustable; able to get ice and cold/hot water on our floor (i think it’s available on every floor); love the location which is just right in Myeongdong; weighing machine for big shoppers to max out their baggage allowance.
Myeongdong Kyoja Chinese restaurant which is opposite the hotel is a must-eat!! The hotel is 20 storey high and easy to locate when you look up to the sky.

Staff at reception were very professional and most could speak multiple languages. A special shout out to handsome and tall Heo who’s been so patient in helping me book restaurants. Our cleaning lady was intuitive.

Just one improvement: have more than one washing machine and dryer because 19 floors of guests cannot use just one washing machine and dryer.

Dear Ms. Aki_07, Thank you for choosing Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Myeongdong as your stay and for this thorough and heartwarming review. We are more than happy that you had a great time here in Seoul. I would like to share some information for the potential guests, starting from this year and effectively from 2023, as decreed by the environment law hotels and other hospitalities facilities no longer will be authorized to offer single use amenities. For this reason as of 2022 we stopped offering cleansing foam, toner and lotion in the rooms. Your review and from others were heard and we installed additional laundry and drying machines and now there is barely waiting time. We truly appreciate constructive reviews and they help us improve our service. For last, Mr. Heo was very happy and quite blushed reading your review. We look forward to welcoming you back again to our hotel. Kind regards, Front office

I was impressed with the features of the bathroom fixtures especially the automated water closet. Room temperature was however not so comfortable at 26 deg Celsius. Location of the hotel is excellent. The front desk staff Mr Lee was very helpful and accommodating and went out of his way to assist us. Cleanliness of the hotel can be improved especially the elevator carpet and the carpet under the bed. Overall, great stay at Solaria Nitetsu Hotel Seoul Myeongdong.

Dear Mr. Allan16888, Thank you for staying at Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Myeongdong and for your great review. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. The WC is indeed very popular among our guests and many of them are repeating guests for this reason. I apologize on the room temperature, since it is centrally controlled, we can adjust it only little higher or lower but we do have alternatives such as portable AC or fans. I wish we could have addressed this issue while you were here. I appreciate your kind words on Mr. Lee's service, he is indeed an excellent hotelier and we always strive to serve you the best way we can. Your feedback on the cleanliness is very important to us and we will definitely take it into account. If you return to Seoul, we would love to have you here again. Best regards, Minami V. Booked a 6 nights’ stay at the executive twin room.

Reception is at level 21 and Check-in was pretty swift, the person was polite and took time to explain the charges before I signed my life away and how I could do tax refund at the airport.

Room (Executive Floor)
It was quite small at first sight but it had everything I need - big bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, fabric spray, night gown, humidifier etc.
Bed was comfortable and there was one soft and one hard pillow to choose from. 😊
And I appreciate having a water dispenser and ice machine at every level. 👍👍

Breakfast
Spread isn’t a lot but sufficient, comprising local (Korean style) breakfast of soup, rice and side dishes. western options included toasts, cereal, salad, sausages and eggs etc. 😃

Location
It’s in a very good location, surrounded by shops, eateries, 24 hour convenience store, food trucks and just a 5min walk away to Myeongdong subway station.

I’m glad I chose a hotel owned by a Japanese cos the necessities are all provided! Will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in this area. Kudos to the staff - housekeeping ladies, technician, receptionists, servers at the breakfast lounge for their excellent service!

Location wise it was right smacked at the center of Myeongdong, its a pity that alot of shops are closed due to covid impact. Therev's a 10mins walk from Myeongdong subway so do take note if you have bulky luggages.

The room comes with separate toilet with bidet; rain shower and even a nice sized bath tub. Room size was good, with a table and 2 armchairs as well. Very well equipped with hot water kettel and a humidifier for the dry weather!!

Check in is 3pm, and i was there early around 12plus but was told that i have to pay extra for 2hrs early check in. Most hotels that i have visited will either tell u no rooms available or just extend early check in free of charge as goodwill especially if its off peak, so i did take away some brownie points from the otherwise pleasant experience. I requested for a 45mins late check out but was also told free late checkout is only for 30mins, nonetheless appreciate the gesture. Just a point to ponder that in theze times of travel recovery, it will be nice if travel estbalishments extend that small bit of goodwill gesture to travellers, it will definitely make a big difference in the overall experience.

Dear Hairypott3r. I appreciate your positive feedback about our hotel. The rooms are not very spacious compared to other hotels in other areas but we designed the rooms to be minimalist yet meeting the guests’ needs. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. I greatly appreciate your comments about aspects of the room. I understand your opinion regarding the early check in or late check out, but unfortunately without rules and policies, it becomes the new normal and it can affect the quality of the housekeeping service. I hope you may be able to understand our point. Best regards, RSVN

Location, spacious room, comfortable bed. Bonus - separate WC with full Toto Japanese bidet, and bathroom with tub! We stayed in the twin room and had zero complains. Location-wise, the hotel is a 5-min walk from Myeongdong station (dun follow Naver; get out exit 8, turn down path (Tous les Jours) into Myeongdong street, hotel is on the left opposite Koyja Dumpling 2nd branch), easy access to all the street food and shopping (Isaac Toast just 2 mins walk away, Yoogane 3 mins away, 410+ Jiajianmyeon above Yoogane etc.). Room was large enough for 2 of us, and we loved the fact that the WC was in a separate room from the bathroom, and that the WC had a bidet with all the functions. Bed was very comfortable as well. Hotel staff are very helpful; although check in is at 3pm, leaving your luggage with them would not be a problem. Rooms may cost a little more than the other hotels nearby, but for all the good things above, still very highly recommended.

Hotel is located 5 mins from Exit 7/8 of Myeongdong station or where the airport bus stops. Foot locker is just next door while all mask story is just opposite to shop your masks and skincare, Emart24 & Isaac Toast is just round the corner

Room might be slightly small for some but i feel its decent for two pax we had 2 large 1 med 1 cabin sized luggages. We just shifted the furniture so we can open our 2 large luggages.

Room doesnt come with international adapter/plug so remember to bring one. The room also came with a humidifier (do fill water into the tank) but ours is quite noisy dont know what happened to the machine, we just on it for a short period and off it. Every level comes with a filtered water dispenser (hot/iced water & ice cubes) just near the lift while microwave and washing machine is located at level 6 (didnt used them so no comment on whether isit good)

Basic amenities (razor, toothbrush) are not available and you had to purchase from their vending machine as part of their green stay program (not an issue for us cause we brought our own). We check in around 2.30pm even though we reached the hotel around 10am, even we wanna pay extra to do an early check in, its not possible as they were full. Housekeeping was great, the place was clean and spotless with 2 bottles of water provided.

Since we stayed during March, heater mode is still on so there is no way we could turn the temperature down when it is hot, window could be opened to cool the room down

I wouldnt hesitate to stay again given the price point and quality of my stay

Highly recommend! I am travelling around Korea. In and out of Seoul. I have stayed at other hotels in different areas of Seoul too but for me, this is the best. Central location, in the heart of the shopping area with a supermarket, restaurants and more on your doorstep. Five minute walk to the metro. Use Exit 7 or 8. Reception is located at the top. The entrance is level 1. When you go to your room, remember that you need to go up to go to reception and down to level 1 to get out. Very secure and you can only access floor levels with a key card. Rooms are lovely. Basic, but clean and bright. Air conditioning, safe, fridge, toiletries, hot water and a very hi-tech toilet! They provide complimentary water each day. Wifi is fast. I didn't include breakfast but there are so many options nearby. Staff are very friendly, super pleasant and so nice. Very good. Hotel is clean. I was desperate as I am travelling a while, so had some washing done which was reasonably priced and done well. Two small negatives, rooms were a bit tight although small to medium in size, I struggled to find a space that was not in the way to put my suitcase! I am one person as well so lord knows what it will be like for two people. On my first stay, they allowed me to check in before the scheduled time free of charge but on the second stay, they wanted to charge. Whilst I know hotels have policies, they can also make exceptions but also keep it the same. Really depends who is at the reception!

Solaria is located right in the middle of Myeongdong, just acrss the street from the famous Myeongdong Kyoja Main Store - a great location. The room is of decent size and the service staff members are friendly, including the chambermaids who greet you as you walk past them. The hotel is within walking distance to a few subway stations and many restaurants and cafe. A very convenient location if one would like to be based in Myeongdong to explore Seoul.

It is located right in the walking street of Myeongdong; very convenient location. The rooms are very comfortable, nothing faulty about it. We stayed for 5 nights, and it was a good stay! The lobby is located on the very top floor, and the rooms are all below the lobby floor. When arriving to the hotel, the taxi will not be able to drop you right in front of the hotel as it is a walking street, so it will require some walking (like 30 meters) to get to the hotel entrance. I would recommend to choose the GPS location pin at Myeongdong Kyoja Mainstore, it is right opposite the hotel entrance in the walking street. Otherwise the driver may choose the GPS location take you to the entrance that’s the mall (M Plaza) and the way up can be quite confusing.
