This hotel was very aptly named. If you are looking for a place to place your head nightly, this place will more than fit the bill, but if you are looking for that getaway experience, this hotel lacks amenities to fit the bill. The staff was very friendly and did their best speaking English while I was there. I thought it was very interesting that the only room cleaning activities that were performed were a daily exchange of towels and an emptying of the trash can, but that, again, was all I needed - it was just different.

My biggest issue with the room was that I was always welcomed by a musty smell because everything is controlled by the key and I only had one meaning the fan was stagnant for all 14-16 hours that I was out and about. Luckily, it clears up quickly. Parts of the room also looked roughed up, but it looks like its repaired as best as possible given the budget point of this stay. I did appreciate the hot water, coffee, and access to a microwave at the shared common area. It was helpful to pick up convenience or grocery store meals to warm up on the coldest nights (below freezing) when you just didn't want to be outside.

We chose the hotel mainly because of it's location: it's very central and walking distance to City Hall, Namdaemun market, Lotte/Shinsaegae department stores and Myeongdong. Seoul Station is only 1 stop by subway, which is convenient for travel. Another big plus: the area is full of good restaurants, a few cafés, convenience stores and there is a post office around the corner.

As we were looking for a budget option, we knew not to expect a 5 star hotel. The rooms were small, but conveniently arranged to make the most out the space. The ones with duplex beds were genius, because they didn't have that hostel feel of bunk beds and also allowed suitcase storage underneath. Another plus: shower and sink/toilet are separate, so it's good for friends traveling together. Also convenient: laundry facilities for just 5.000Won for washing&drying incl. detergent.

The beds were comfortable and towels were replaced daily. The rooms were a bit worn, but OK clean. What makes up for this is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff! They spoke very good English and were lovely. Would come back here because of them!

For less than $100 AUD a night (for my stay), Hotel 8 Hours is an excellent value-for-money hotel in the centre of Seoul. While the rooms are quite compact, the service is great, and the staff were the highlight of my stay. I stayed at the hotel for the last few days of February 2023.

If there was another room available in the surrounding area we would have left immediately. As soon as we stepped into the room we were overwhelmed with the smell of bleach to the point we could barely breath. As we continued our stay we could only guess that instead of actually cleaning the room, the staff just heavy stayed disinfectant between occupants. The floor was covered in dog hair, there were cobwebs along the walls and spiders in the corners. One wall had been recently damaged and scuffed and splattered with what appeared to be blood.
The room was in need of total repair from furniture missing drawers, to toilet seat broken and hole in bathroom wall. The bed was covered in disgusting stained bed coverings which also has cigarette burn holes. There was evidence of prior smoking in our non smoking room as we found cigarette butts amount other trash behind our mattress. The cherry on top, which was just a minor inconvenience, was no tv connection in our room. Upon checkout, after having to wait for an attendant, we found he was so frazzled from his morning shift, we could only guess he had been dealing with other disgruntled guests already.
This was by far the worst hotel experience my husband and I ever had and we request hotel 8 at other locations often. Please see photos for reference.

Can't ask for more with this price! The room is so cozy with comfortable bed, clean facilities and friendly staffs. They also provide some refreshments for the guests and it is next to their check-in counter. Besides, I love this hotel because it is very close to Myeongdong and Namdaemun. Here's some useful tips of how to get to this hotel by subway because you could easily lost your way while searching for this hotel as all the streets look the same in that area. First, exit City Hall line 8 and you need to walk straight until you come to Mango Six Coffee. Turn left into the alley and go straight again until you reach a T junction. At T- junction, you have to turn right until u saw GS 25. Turn left and walk straight again. Now, Hotel Eight Hours is on your right.

The hotel was easy to find. Book a taxi in advance from the hotel to get to it. it was 45000krw. From the main road (where the palaces are), Turn in when you see Gong Cha, turn right and go straight until you see C4U. The hotel is next to C4U. You need to take the lift to the 2nd floor. I love the location of Hotel 8 Hours as its situated on a quiet street with some pubs. Namdaemun market/Myungdong shopping district(where all the party/shopping/food is at) was just a 10-15 min walk away. Nanta Cooking Show was a 15-20 min walk away, there's plenty to see along the way.

The hotel itself was clean with a minimalist style. Our room has 3 beds with a small window with plenty of space to move about. The beds were OK to sleep in, not the most comfortable but we were dead tired and couldn't care less. The toilet arrangement was a separate bath and shower stall. Water pressure was OK. My only negative feedback is there is no hooks to hang your clothings in the shower and its rather annoying when you are sharing a room with friends who does not want to see you running around half naked to take a bath. Sheets and towels were cleaned everyday. The Free wifi was really fast.

There's PCs with free internet, snack food, a coffee machine and water at the lobby. The staff speaks good english and mandarin. Bonus : Try the black pork bbq at the restaurant opposite the C4U. Its fantastic!

Good location, close to metro (City hall), close to the market, shops and plenty of restaurants around. It was hard to find this hotel, located in a side street. 8 hours hotel is on the second floor, different hotel is located on a higher floors. NIce reception area with a big table, computer, printer and also free tea, coffee and noodles (you won't find any noodles left in the evening). Room comfortable with a tiny window (hard to call it a window). We stayed there for four nights and the first 2 days our room wasn't cleaned, towels weren't changed so we had to ask them to clean our room and change towels.
Staff at the reception polite and in the mornings the owner of the hotel was in the hotel. Very nice, helpful person who could speak and understand english (which is not common in Korea). I would recommend this hotel, especially for it's location.
The last thing, bed was uncomfortable. Usually I don't complain, don't need super soft bed but was waking up with a bad back pain every morning.

We found Hotel 8 Hours through a booking app. The location is perfect! You are basically within walking distance (1km-5km radius) of major sites in Seoul! As with most small hotels, the exterior can be deceiving... But once you get to the 2nd floor of the building, where the hotel is located, you walk in to a very modern, western-zen, interior. Yes, there is an elevator too! Guests enjoy almost 24-hour coffee, tea, cold and hot drinking water, noodles and crackers for free. Step out of the building and you walk in to a plethoria of awesome restaurants that will not leave you wanting. The City Hall metro station exit is just about 200 meters from the hotel. Hard to beat for its price!

As far as I know, yes. Rooms don't have windows or ventilation conducive to a smoking environment anyway. I could smell no smoke when I stayed there.
