I'm only giving Lotte City Hotel Myeongdong 3 stars. The good - spacious rooms, heated toilet seat, large shower, rooms in a quiet location and hotel in a great location if you like shopping and seeing some of the tourist attractions. The bad - the room service has only one western option - BLT and I'm sorry to say it wasn't a BLT. It was a cold, untoasted, sandwich with tuna mayo meat (I think), fatty meat, lettuce. Really not acceptable for the price that was charged. My recommendation is don't order room service. The OK - breakfast was ok but not enough variety of foods on offer. Staff service was inconsistent - some helpful some not. Improvement needed before I will stay here again.
Lovely stay, we picked this hotel because Myeongdong was very central to everything in Seoul. Also, Lotte is the name of my previous salon so that name got chosen by chance. What seal the deal was photos of the rain shower, oh yeahhh. Staff was very helpful in helping us get taxis and finding certain locations. Hotel itself was cozy and clean, there's a self serve laundry area, I think it was only $6 to wash and dry.
The lotte city hotel myeongdong is awesome. Clean and comfy room. Friendly staffs. And it’s feel almost like a 5 star hotel. Need to work on differentiating the foods at breakfast, at least 2-3 kinds of foods. Great location. Very near to myeongdong shopping street and to MRT
We stayed 11 nights in this hotel and loved it. The room had a large window with a great view over the city. There were two chairs and a small table by the window to enjoy the view. There was lots of space for clothes and luggage. When we asked the front desk for more hangers, they were brought up immediately. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and had a large walk-in shower with no leaks, good water pressure and even temperature. There was lots of shelf space in the bathroom. The breakfast room was on the top floor with fantastic views. It was busy but had an excellent choice of food at the buffet. The hotel was very centrally located with easy access to the subway, major sites, Cheonggyecheon Stream and many restaurants. Insadong was a short walk away. The hotel room was quiet, even though in the heart of the city. The air-conditioning was excellent. The hotel provided a clean laundry area with several machines at a reasonable cost. Not only did the hotel provide water bottles in your room daily, but there was a free drinking water dispenser on every floor to fill up your water bottles. Without a doubt, this would be our choice of hotel on our next visit to Seoul.…
the location is okayy, close to subway station and walkable to the main myeong dong section. This stop you do need to change lines to get to all the normal locations like hongdae The room was definitely smaller than we thought , they don’t actually offer extra pillows or blankets and there is very limited toiletries available, the air con was extremely drying, and not to even mention our sheets were not changed for days unless requested and when they did it finally, they didn’t even change the pillow cases Very mid experience overall
Prompt check in and very welcoming receptionist. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable bed. Quiet and the room temperature is just right even it was snowy December. The wasn’t that great but ok. Downside is they don’t provide toothpaste and brushes so better bring yours before going. Price is reasonable and the location is just minutes away from the subway station.
I love this hotel and would stay here again. The location is perfect if you want to visit the major tourist attractions in the area, and many are within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful - they helped me when I needed to print something, they changed money for us when we wanted to use the laundry (there is a machine in the laundry that gives you coins but it was empty), they gave helpful advice when we asked about a late check out (which we got), they called a taxi for us. We only had breakfast in the restaurant. You could have your typical western style breakfast - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, etc but you might also want to try some new things - I had hangover soup (even though I didn’t have a hangover!). Tasty. While you’re up there (restaurant is level 27) check out the view, and it might help you get your directions figured out. If you arrive by taxi you will probably be dropped off at (what I think of as) the back door (next to the 7-Eleven). Take the elevator or escalator up a level to the lobby level, where reception is. I was with my niece so we had a twin room (two single beds), but the beds were bigger than what I recall sleeping on as a kid - maybe they were king singles?? You can get your T money card at the 7-Eleven on the ground floor. The 7-Eleven has a good range of snacks but we also went to the GS25 convenience store and had a couple of meals in the store (Kdrama watchers you know what I’m talking about). If you’re trying to figure out which hotel to stay at, stay here.…
Lotte City Hotel is located right outside the main MyungDong shopping area, about a 10-15 min walk. It is also a 15-20 min walk away from Insadong, another tourist stop. The closest subway stop to the hotel is euljiro 3 on the green line. The airport bus makes a stop at euljiro 2, which is the nearest major intersection and is about a 2 min walk. Take bus number 6015 from the airport and get off at euljiro 2. I found my room clean, shower spacious, and toilet with enough space for a 6 foot 2 guy over 250lbs. I visited other hotels in the myungdong area and found the rooms cramped and dated. I was happy that I chose this hotel although it was outside myungdong. The hotel also has laundry facilities operated by 500 won coins and 1000 won. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers located on the 3rd floor next to the fitness center. It costs 4000 won to run a load of either a wash or dryer. There is a change machine and laundry detergent available to purchase. If you are staying in Korea for more than 4-5 days, this laundry facility is a life saver to get clean clothes. Hotel room also has an empty mini fridge and they provide you with 2 included water bottles. WiFi also works well enough for you to do work if needed. Lobby is located on the 2nd floor. There is a great hidden coffee shop nearby the hotel called “coffee hanyak bang”. It’s in a hidden alley behind the gs25 convenience store. Next to it is also a decent poke shop. Overall, I would stay here again.…
I have been to this hotel twice. Once as part of a corporate retreat, and the second as part of a family visit. Both trips were spectacular and this second time was even more so through the great service and attentiveness by the staff. One particular event that left a strong impression was when I had carelessly left a bag full of shopping in the trunk of a taxi which drove off. After I told this to the staff, Ryan Kim and his colleagues, including the security uncle, after much trouble a managed to find it back for me and even brought it to my room. This was a huge effort as I hadn’t gotten a receipt from the driver and even paid in cash. This meant that the staff had to look through CCTV footage and identify the vehicle and the image was not too clear. So the staff called private taxi companies and managed to find the taxi. I would recommend people visiting Seoul to give this hotel a try. Not only that the location is good, the staff showed professionalism and care beyond duty.…
