Booked this hotel on basis of good value and previous positive reviews. Very disappointed with service - despite asking 2 different people for a breakfast box to be arranged as we were leaving early in the morning this did not appear, no explanation given. Was told still had to pay teh balance - information that had beeen sent via email...

Hilton it is NOT. If you are looking for a budget hotel, clean rooms, Excellent-friendly staff with a decent location (I saw the Egypt Museum from my balcony), then this is your hotel. It is on the 5th floor. I have traveled to 26 countries and the staff was the best around - including Hiltons. I can think of 1...

My wife and I stumbled across this hotel after walking around downtown, disappointed in the hotel we had booked online. City view were great and had availability so we changed hotel straight away. The guys at the door and the front desk are very helpful, trying to make your stay as good as possible, and the rooms and decent with...

This little hotel two stories up from the street is one block from the Cairo Museum. The pluses: Very clean, great staff - helpful in every way, good boxed breakfast - large!, internet service, elevator, air conditioning, and more. The minuses, really only one. The street outside was very noisy and polluted. We couldn't use the balcony because of the...

Stayed with a group and it was perfect for our purpose; not too expensive, not too cheap. The rooms are clean and tidy. The staff is very friendly (mostly Coptics) and there is alcohol. After a week the breakfast gets a bit boring. Balcony in our room was great, the bathroom very very small but with it's own heater for...

We stayed in the City View for 4 nights in October 2010 - staying in Room 208 (next to the restaurant). Comfortable, clean and with a very good view from the balcony - across to the Egyptian Museum. Breakfast was good and plentiful - cold meats, cheese, bread, jam, cakes, yoghurt, eggs, cereal, juice and tea/coffee. Staff very polite and...

Not bad for $60 per night. Nothing ott - but staff were friendly and helpful with certain staff really willing to pull out the stops and help. which is nice. Some rooms far better than others - I stayed 5 nights in two blocks and had varying rooms, but they were certainly good enough to get ones head down. Location...

Positives: - Rooms: big enough, with fridge, safe, tv etc - Good variety at breakfast and above-average quality - Location - Staff at breakfast were very nice, staff at doors were always smiley :) - Good value for Cairo, although not really cheap considering the service according to European/American standards. Negatives: - We were supposed to arrive at 1am and,...

I stayed in this hotel for three nights in October. I have stayed in a number of hotels in downtown over the years and this was my best experience to date. The hotel's central location means that there is quite a loud traffic noise at all times, however this did not bother my boyfriend or I and we slept well...

We had a last minute glitch which left us three weeks away from our first trip to Egypt and no hotel booking. So, we started researching Cairo hotels, using Trip Advisor and other web sites, we happened upon City View. I sent a few preliminary emails and Adel always answered me quickly, efficiently and was very helpful. Thankfully City View...
