We stayed in this hotel during our visit to Cairo. To be honest the hostel was not what I expected. For the price I expected a hostel with moist rooms and little staff who wouldn't speak English. None of that! The staff was really friendly and we actually hung out with them in the 'chill out corner' of the hostel....

We booked the hostel for our first nights in Cairo and ended up extending our stay as we found this place to be ideal for budget travellers like ourselves. We called the hostel before our arrival to arrange an airport pickup, which costs 100 Egyptian pounds. I highly recommend this service as the building at first might be hard to...

When I book accommodation, I'm looking for 4 things: a reasonable nightly rate, clean and comfortable bedding, a clean functional shower and washroom, and a decent location in or close to downtown. My stay at Wake Up Cairo hostel met my criteria and exceeded my expectations. We paid $55 for a 3-night stay in a double room (two single beds)...

It was difficult to find this place and the taxi driver got lost on the way here. However, located on the 7th and 10th Floor of an old building, it is surprisingly clean and comfortable enough. Cairo was cold and the bedding was thin, was saved by the air conditioners in the room. Much can be done to improve the...

I booked this hostel online for my first nights upon arrival in Egypt. I chose it because of the high ratings/reviews online. The place was so noisy with traffic noises it was hard to sleep. the cleanliness was mediocre. And the biggest problem was the smoking! there were constantly staff and friends of staff smoking in the common areas and...

It is rather a nice hotel. Firstly, we can not find it, bc it is on 7th floor of an old building. Maybe it takes you some minutes to get to the hotel, because the elevator is small and is shared with other office in the building. The room is at average level of cleanness. The clients should share the...

Great location near the Egyptian museum on Tahrir square. Metro and train stations are easily accessible. The hostel is on the 7th floor with great views over the city from the common area. The reason you should stay hear is the staff make you feel at home in a new place. They'll help you see what you are interested in....

Spotless rooms with comfortable beds and A/C. Clean bathrooms with hot showers! Centrally located and within a 1 minute walk to the Museum! Staff was super caring and friendly and made us feel right at home. Couldn't recommend a better hostel

This hostel is the BEST location in downtown!! Situated 15 minutes to islamic and coptic cairo ,10 minutes to the Egyptian museum, the rooms are very clean, the staff are so helpful and friendly, you really feel you are with family! And the most important thing in my opinion that they are educated hospitality professionals, tour guides, and historians, so...

Wake Up Cairo is an oasis of reliability in Cairo. In the rest of the city I was scammed and even robbed repeatedly and made to feel quite unwelcome because I am an American (or maybe just because I'm a Westerner). At Wake Up, however, I was dealt with honestly and made to feel welcome by the friendly staff. The...
