My favourite hostel in the Middle East. The staff go above and beyond the call of duty to help you - assistance in transport around Egypt, places to visit in the city and they will even come out with you to cafes and markets to help stop you getting charged tourist prices. Furthermore, the culture of Freedom Hostel is extremely...

My girlfriend and I had a great time at Freedom Hostel. The location is perfect, near Egyptian Museum and Cairo Tower. Our room was clean and it was the cleanest hostel we stayed in Egypt. The staff helped us to plan our trip to Luxor and Abu Simbel. When we was leaving the staff prepared our breakfast before the regular...

We checked into the Freedom Hostel at the beginning of October for a 4 night stay. I had emailed the hostel prior to our arrival and arranged for someone to collect us from the airport. I forget the name of the driver but he was a lovely chap with a great sense of humour who kept us entertained the whole...

When you locate the building, which is a bit challenging, don't be afraid by the appearance. Once you get to the 3rd floor you walk into a really nice hostel. The rooms are spacious with great air conditioning. The beds were clean and comfy. The staff are friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our conversations with Sarah, who shared much...

Positive: Friendly staff, clean. Negative: Pick-up from the airport was 30mins late. Up a lot of stairs. In a very old and decrepit building. Doors don’t close well, windows don’t either, bathroom is half falling apart. We had our laundry done by them and it was returned to us very wrinkled.
