My dad and I stayed at the Pavillon Winter for a night on a trip to Egypt. Almost as soon as we arrived we were able to have a tour guide arranged by the concierge for some of the local sites. The service we had from reception, concierge, and restaurant couldn't be faulted. We highly commend our tour guide Khaled Morsy, he planned a tour curated to the time we had available, featuring the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's Mortuary Temple, Medinet Habu, and the Luxor and Karnak Temples. Khaled was accommodating, friendly, and our car journeys with him between the sites were smooth and comfortable. He gave us advice and time estimates on each site we visited, and gave us advance warning of any risks with tourist traps and hustlers! Our only complaint about the hotel was the building itself - though our room was comfortable and functional it was also in need of servicing and/or renovation. The whole building does give the impression of being a bit tired, and a few fresh coats of paint wouldn't go amiss. That said, this definitely isn't true of the fabulous gardens (shared with the adjacent Winter Palace Hotel), which made a wonderful setting for our breakfasts.…
I have stayed at the Winter Pavilion before, but its been nearly 4 years since I have been in Egypt, partially due to covid restrictions. I am writing this quick review because I wanted to praise the pre-booking and pre-arrival service I have received from Mr Abdul Raheem Mahmoud, Director of Food and Beverage. For the past 6 months he has answered every single email query I've had, from sending copies of menus and checking half board prices, to details of room amenities. I'm taking a friend with me who has never visited Egypt, so I wanted to make sure I had all details for her. Mr Mahmoud has been absolutely fantastic and I have no doubt our upcoming trip will be excellent.
I have been going to this wonderful hotel twice a year for the last 20 years and it is simply because it is my favourite place in the world, beautiful, magical, very good value and with excellent friendly and helpful staff. Mr Nabil and his team are the best and I always feel so welcome, the pool is ideal with excellent service and the breakfasts are great in a perfect garden setting. Perfection in Lixor!
Booked two rooms for two adults and two children as the rooms were not suitable for extra beds. Location and the gardens of the hotel are excellent. Breakfast is adequate and the sitting area in the garden adds to a fabulous breakfast experience. Room service and cleaning was of very good standards. The hotel is aged and needs renovation to qualify among premium hotels. The lack of recognition of my Accor Diamond status was a disappointment. Accor systems and staff training is generally not as sharp as competitors (such as Marriott where I am a Titanium member) but in this case total antipathy to Accor Diamond status was disheartening. Had to beg to keep one of the the two rooms until 1pm (as daughter was unwell and wanted to rest).
Excellent hôtel .My family with three kids spent unforgettable evening at the hotel. A magnificent garden , amazing breakfast, service ,people all just perfect. You must stay in this hotel ❤️ we drove from Cairo to Luxor and it was the best hotel we stayed in Egypt 🙏
