#10 of 70 hotels in Luxor
Travellers' Choice
Nestled upon the private "Kings Island" in the Nile that covers 660,000 sqm, the resort truly is an oasis of peace and tranquility. The idyllic, landscaped hotel grounds are expansive and home to the two main buildings, bungalows and three enticing swimming pool areas. The historic sights of Luxor, located only 4 kilometres from the hotel, can be easily reached by complimentary shuttle buses. The island is connected to the mainland only by a bridge and is virtually free of charge. This makes the resort an ideal location for families with children. The resort has been renovated in 2010 and extended by 320 rooms and suites in 10 elegant bungalows, new restaurants, a pool of 2,800 sqm in size and a SPA with fitness centre (from early-sommer 2011).

We stayed in this hotel two days, nice location, clean and close all activities. We like atmosphere, quite and relax. We eat dinner two time in Sea food restaurant. The first day we get nice meat selection grill and second day fish grill. The service we get from Korashy was excellent, he recommended and prepared for us grill. The food was tasty. We coming back and recommend this place.

The pictures on the hotel’s website still show a garden of lush greenery, but the place looks nothing like this anymore. In a senseless, barbaric act of environmental vandalism, the garden has been butchered. Scores of old trees have been chopped down, and those that remain are pitiful stubs from which branches were cut off, standing like dismembered corpses. The smaller trees had their branches chopped off, and the meagre remaining foliage shaved to geometric forms in a pathetic attempt to imitate a formal French garden. The bougainvillea, most of the hedges, bushes and shrubs are gone. Even the frangipanis have been hacked down to ugly sticks. Not a plant in the once-beautiful garden has been allowed to grow naturally or to look natural. It may be argued that this meets the expectations of the guests, who are now almost exclusively Egyptian, mostly noisy young teenagers coming in large, organized tour groups. The hotel’s website still describes it as “an oasis of unblemished beauty and tranquility nestled on an exclusive paradise ‘Kings Island’”, but this is no longer the case. From the point of view of a faithful customer for more than twenty years, under the current ownership and management the road ahead can only lead down.

Last week I spent four nights there with family. Great place with it's beautiful nature. I felt I'm in paradise as it's an island in the heart of Nile, where stress doesn't exist but you can find different kind of trees, colored flowers, birds such as: crows, pigeon, cattle egret, hoopoes, Sparrow and migrated birds. The room is clean, spacious and equipped with amenities. Regarding meals and restaurant, they follow the precautions of COVID-19. All chefs wear masks and gloves, serve you generously and with a smile what you choose and waiters are also always on hand if you need anything. Finally, I suggest some points to improve the service. - there isn't enough sitting area except those around pools which is crowded and noisy and the hotel spreads in a huge area . - signing the invoice for dinner. Firstly, it uses a lot of paper. Secondly, it's a headache work for accounting dep. I think colored bracelet is better solution for guests and workers. I highly recommend jolie ville to whom would like to enjoy not only the sights seeing of Luxor but also the exquisite nature and Nile.

We emailed and called the hotel on many occasions in order to make a reservation, the telephone went unanswered and so did the emails. We reached out to the manager and booked a superior room. The lady who checked us in charged us on arrival and incorrectly gave us a standard room. The standard rooms are awful, old fashioned, small and out dated, the aren’t representative in anyway of a five star hotel. We return to reception and asked to leave and be refunded. They took us to the superior room which we had originally booked. It’s a much larger room but not remotely five star. Two sachets of Nescafé and powdered milk, old bathroom. The enforced NY gala dinner was much the same, for anyone with knowledge of Egypt would understand the value of 2400 egyptian pounds. My family were given a Coca Cola In a plastic cup as a reception drink and the buffet food was cold, unseasoned and unpleasant. The reception staff made no effort to greet us either on entering or departing the hotel, we were given absolutely no details on any of the hotel facilities. The building is old, out dated and old fashioned. It isn’t remotely representative of any five star hotel in Egypt. After a long day sightseeing we reluctantly ordered room service and requested the food be hot, we were given uncooked cold pasta, cold meat and fries. For anyone who is used to staying in a luxury hotel, this wouldn’t be right for you. At best it’s a three star in a nice location far from the sights of Luxor. Our room was well cleaned and our breakfast ( basic food) was pleasant. To make matters worse, after our initial contact with the hotel manager, he looked me up on Facebook and tried to befriend me.

My wife and myself stayed one night there so we didn't spend long time at the hotel it self here is bros and cons from our point of view; Pros: ** Check-in was very smooth and very fast and Mr. Wael from front desk was very helpful and cooperative to upgrade our room type. ** room itself very very huge with all needed amenities. ** staff very helpful and friendly and want to go the extra mile for guests' comfort. ** the green area in the hotel is very huge so you can spend the day relaxing and walking within the hotel. Cons: ** There were huge event for group of students in the 1st day , so the resturant wasn't enough for all that number of people and it affect the quality and portions for all. But Mr. Hamdy and Mr. Mohareb sorted away this problem and invited us for Italian restaurant as complimentary dinner in the next day.
