Stayed in this hotel 2 nights and it was just a lovely stay. The hotel itself is welcoming and clean, comfortable beds. Fridge in room and great air conditioning which was greatly appreciated in the sweltering heat of day. Beautifully decorated hotel with a lovely touch of greenery around, a pristine tropical garden in the dining area with labels on...

Once again I stayed on the East Bank but, as usual, gravitated to this charming hotel with its beautiful, peaceful garden. Although trade is relatively quiet, Mr.Ahmed and his son Mohammed still make sure that the hotel and gardens are immaculate. It is so relaxing to sit in such beautiful surroundings, far removed from the bustle and hassle of the...

Managed by Mohamed (father) and Ahmed (son), who are very helpful in every respect, this hotel has been a pleasant surprise. My room in the second floor (104) was quiet, brightly lit, with a balcony to the patio garden, where dinner is served amongst exotic plants. Food was great, the (complimentary) Internet faster than in much fancier hotels. No complaints...

This is our third visit to Amon hotel in Luxor. We stay for one month and it is like a home from home. The hotel is on West Bank so is quieter than east side as there is less hassle. The hotel is in a narrow street off the main road and only a few minutes walk to the local...

I thoroughly recommend this small, friendly, family- run hotel on the West Bank in Luxor. It is comfortable and reasonably priced, has a beautiful garden and is run by an extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful father and son team who will advise about and organise excursions and activities. The food is delicious and individual requests can be catered for. It...

The hotel is placed in West Bank very close to the graves and all the temples, what makes it perfect to do the visits. Also it is very close to the Nile and you can cross in ferry to another side. The rooms are very spacious as the bath and he emphasizes the cleanliness of the same ones. The meal...

Father Ahmed, son Mohammed and their wonderful staff gave us a warmhearted welcome in their hotel. We had talks in the beautiful garden, we had laughs cycling to the Hatshepsut-site not far from the hotel, we had boat trips to the other bank to visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor. And boy oh boy, they absolutely served the best...

Tucked in the West Bank village near the Nile ferries, this family-run hotel is a real gem. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and the facilities are all clean and well cared-for. The food was delicious, and the garden environment with lots of comfy seating is relaxing and beautiful. Highly recommended!

I've stayed here several times in the past while I've been working in Luxor - here again with a group this time, and it's lovely as always. The rooms are clean and well-appointed (although be warned that the bathrooms are Egyptian-style, with only a shower!), and the garden is really pretty. The staff are attentive, and most importantly, honest. I've...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel with the informal atmosphere, where international guests will feel comfortable for weeks! The hotel is on the West Bank of Luxor, overlooking the mountains of the desert to one side and the East Bank of the Nile on the other. It is a five minute walk to the ferry and the smaller taxi boats for a five minute crossing of the Nile River. The hotel sits quietly in the middle of the village of Al Bairat with its small shops, stables, rural village life and nearby fields; near the tombs and the temples of the West Bank. Almost all of the 17 rooms are equipped with bathroom, shower and air-conditioning and have large balconies with furniture that are ideal for a relaxing time overlooking the garden or street. On the roof terraces you can enjoy the sunset and sunrise, relax or sunbathe on the deck chairs. The beautiful garden of wonder. The marvelous lotus pond, the twin fountains and rich variety of tropical plants are an invitation for enjoying breakfast or to relax after a day of sightseeing. ... more   less
