Ok we booked a 2 day visit to Luxor and its wonderful sites, loved the trip hated the hotel. We got back to the hotel at about 5;30 in the evening after a very busy and long day from Hurghada. We was told that the 2 rooms werent ready, although they should of been prepared from 3 onwards. After waiting an hour and half i went to my room,my sister who was in the adjoining room wasnt cleaned at all, bins full, creip packets on floor and beds un made. This was after us being told that they where doing the final touches to the room.I had to go downstairs 3 times to rectify this and to vbe honest the staff where quite rude. The bar staff!!! well there quite frankly theives who will charge you top dollar if you only have euros!!! And rude with it.Get a bill before you pay them. I had a wonderful trip to see the sights of Luxor it was fantastic but this hotel is far from fantastic. horrible staff and dirty.

Unsafe and careless staff. Rooms are outdated and need a revamp. Stayed here three nights and on the first night someone tried to enter our room during the night. This happened to three of my friends too who were staying in seperate rooms. Someone successfully entered my friends room with a hotel key but luckily they had the security chain on the door and they couldn’t enter. They tried again at 2am - incredibly scary! We think it was someone who worked at the hotel. Upon telling the staff this in the morning, they promised to look at the security footage and find the culprit but frustratingly the issue was just passed over between staff and nothing was resolved. We asked 4 times for an update at front desk, including speaking to the manager. Would not recommend at all, can’t imagine what would have happened if they successfully entered the room. Hotel must have been in on it. Worst and scariest experience; don’t stay here!!! On top of this, the hair dryer didn’t work and the pools aren’t heated to Obviously save money through out December. My partner and I also had to sleep in separate twin beds with nothing done to rectify this when mentioned. With the price we were paying this was meant to be a romantic treat amongst our travels but it was far from. Hotel staff had a many chances to make this up to us but nothing was done with no care.

This "5 star hotel" is barely a 2 star nowadays. Very old unclean rooms with broken furniture, dirty carpets and bathroom, open electrical cables, terrible breakfast in a dark and gloomy room... Additionally, we were offered a free upgrade at check in, but the heating in the new rooms (which were dirty and moldy) did not work and there were two twin beds when we had specifically requested a double bed. When we went to the reception to complain we were told in a very rude way that the heating was not working in the whole hotel and they had no double beds left, even if we could see several rooms with double beds available in Booking.com. After complaining for one hour and asking to talk to the manager (who gave us a side look from the distance but never deigned to come), the front desk assistant reluctantly agreed to show us two alternative rooms where (oh magic!) the heating was working, although the toilet and one of the beds were broken. We anyway agreed to get downgraded to these other rooms which were at a lower level than we had booked. We never got any compensation for the downgrade nor even an apology about the whole situation and bad treatment received. In conclusion: To avoid at all costs! There are much better hotels nearby at a similar price.

Room Tip: Just avoid this hotel and go to Steigenberger Achti. The small price difference is totally worth it!

As shown in their Google photos, I can imagine that this was once a glorious, glorious hotel during their golden days, where cruises would park and guests are roaming around their pool area. But, sadly, like the city's souvenir shops near the river, you can see that now it is suffering from weaker business. Unmaintained gym (machines not working), wrecked squash & tennis courts, etc. The majestic swimming pools are still there, but since I came during winter, we were not tempted to swim in cold water. Wifi on/off. I can see they invested to renovate their lobby area to look new, but not in other parts (maybe not yet). Plus side: Staff are genuinely helpful. Beautiful view from room if you get Nile river view. Nice spots to take photos at the pool area. At the back side, you have direct access to Nile river in which you can take felucca / boat ride (negotiate the price on your own). FYI, it's not really walking distance or walking comfort to the Nile corniche, so you might want to consider taking horse carriage ride instead. Yes, it'd be a hassle with the negotiation, but as long as you ended up just paying approx. EGP 50 to go to the Sofitel / Luxor temple / Al Haggag mosque area, that should be a fair deal & support to the local economy. The thing is, unless you have budget for Sofitel, Steigenberger, or Grand Nile hotels, I guess this is your next best option at Luxor. Nothing terrible about it, as long as you manage your expectations :) Such a potential. With some improvement, this would've been a great resort to spend few days in Luxor with a big group.

Very disappointed. Bad experience. The staff wasn’t friendly at all. The room was dirty at our arrival and very old (not like picture). The hair dryer didn’t work. We asked three times minimum for an extra bed for our 3 year old and it never came. We had the half board included but it was awful . The food choice was very poor and the waiter never asked us if we wanted to drink something. Wifi doesn’t work in the rooms and very slow in the lobby. I don’t recommend this place or as long as you don’t expect a five stars. It’s more like a 2 or 3. Only positive side is the view on the Nile and the sunset
