I really enjoyed staying here, only for one night but that was more the nature of my trip than anything connected to the hotel. Stumbled across it and would encourage anyone else to go out of their way to find it. Fairly priced. Friendly staff but the main selling point for me is having dinner and then breakfast on that rooftop. Really nice.

Went here for a drink for consecutive nights whilst staying in Luxor. Friendly, reasonably priced wholesome food too. Staff were on the whole friendly, but perhaps it’s a little rich to ban visitors for Wi-fi usage for not ordering a substantive meal...

I just stayed 5 nights at this hotel and had a comfortable and enjoyable time. The staff are friendly, there's plenty of English spoken, and the service is great. I had a decent size room with an en-suite and a balcony overlooking the Nile. The bed was comfortable, there was always plenty of hot water and decent water pressure and the chairs on the balcony were very comfortable. It was a pleasure to sit out there and watch the boats drift by. The room also had a small fridge and a tv and air conditioning unit. The room furniture was functional but I wasn't there to admire the wardrobe and it was all clean and served its purposes. The restaurant on the top floor was fantastic. It was open at one end and again, had views over the Nile. The complimentary breakfast had plenty of choice and was an opportunity to really fill up prior to getting down to some serious sight seeing. I also ate in the restaurant every night. The food was great and catered for European tastes. It was lovely sat up there relaxing, eating and watching the world go by. The service again in the restaurant was first rate. The price for a typical meal and drink was about £7. There was a hotel pool. Additional pool towels were provided. The pool was heated and was warm enough to just go straight in. There was lots of lounge chairs available. The hotel reception could source taxi drivers and a tour guide too but they were not pushy about it at all. They let me know just once that they could do this and then, having given the information, did not mention it again. I really appreciated that. I urge anyone who is traveling independently to consider this hotel as a prime option. Some practical information: I arrived at Luxor airport and there were lots of taxi drivers waiting. I paid 150 LE to be taken to the Nile passenger ferry. I didn't have to negotiate. I just said that was what I would pay. I asked the driver to show me exactly where it was. People hanging about will immediately offer you all sorts of crossing options. Ignore them and walk down the steps to a wooden hut where two men take the 5 LE fare. It takes 10 minutes to cross and its a lovely journey. There are four ferries and so there is always one of them ready to board right away. The hotel is then a three minute walk. It is best to travel this way as a taxi to the hotel has to take a very long route to the bridge across the Nile and that adds 40 minutes to what is actually a very short journey. That's an 80 minute return journey for the taxi driver and that is going to be factored into your fare. The hotel wifi was ok but not streaming quality. Certainly enough though to get a reliable connection for social media etc. I didn't really need it as I got an 8 GB data package at Cairo airport when I flew in. Cost me £8. The best recommendation for a hotel is the - "would I return" question. I definitely would.

Great location near the ferry dock. Good rooftop restaurant with great views of East Bank. Mohamed Tuthmosis II who works at the front desk is also an amazing tour guide. The staff was all very helpful and kind.

The good: It's on the West Bank where most of the sites are; they hired an excellent driver and SUV car for us; the restaurant has a great view of the Nile; friendly staff; reasonable price. The not-so-good: plenty. Dust is everywhere in Egypt and this hotel is no exception. It was clean in the room though. Dirty air everywhere, open fires for various reasons, phone never worked, no fitted sheets so bedding came undone, could hear the restaurant music from the room, wifi in the room was poor, the shower stall was so slippery I could barely move, electricity went out a few times for the town, ... you are in Egypt, not the Westin. There is value to that as you see what life is and how people are. But you do have to embrace it, or at least bear with it.

Dear Bill, Thank you for choosing our hotel. Yes, the west bank of Luxor is the real Egypt. Internet is slow, electricity is much better than before but can still stop at Times. Dust yes! We are a few kilometers from the desert. The reason to travel is to see the real live in a country, do the west bank is the place to stay in Luxor. Have a safe trip. Warm regards also to your lovely wife
