Stayed at Mayfield with friends when traveling back to US for three nights. The room was nice, but there are no rooms with ensuites. Yet, there were not a lot of guests those days, and we basically had the floor to ourselves. Meals were okay, although on weekends the breakfast has no protein. The goodness was the staff was willing...

Spent a Friday night. My single room was very cheap, very clean, and quaintly decorated. It was impossible to sleep due to the nearby Nairobi Baptist Church having some sort of loud music event until 1:30am. Of course, I then had to get up to get to my flight! The staff are so friendly. They have a taxi service to...

A great place to get over the jet lag, comfortable rooms, food simple home cooking. if you dont mind sharing your table at meal times and talking with total strangers this is not the place for you. Very safe walled and gated compound, beautiful quiet gardens

Between August 26 and September 16 I was in northern Kenya to help with theological training. On my way in I spend one night in Mayfield Guest House, before travelling further into the country, and on my way out I was there again for half a day and one night, before leaving Nairobi to return to Canada. It was a...

James and his team really did everything they could to help us settle into the city, from the 2am pickup and drop off at the airport to late evening check out on our departure day. We were even able to stay 2 nights when the Guest house was officially closed for the holidays! Had to pay cash but could pay...

Great safety. Good three meals. Comfy and quaint but watch out for pricing. The prices are per person per night. At 2750 shillings for mission workers and 4750 shillings for assorted heathens. So two people per night at the juicy price is $140 AUD.In a country wallowing in a tradition of corruption and deception the desk clerk will gleefully charge the...

The Mayfield Guest House was our final night's accommodation in Kenya before return to the U.S. Our travelling companions, my wife's sister and her husband, missionaries for 9 years in Kisumu, booked us into 2 rooms. Our stay in Room 16 was by far the nicest night's sleep we'd had during our stay. We needed it, as the next day...

My wife and I had to be in Nairobi for a Monday morning meeting, so we booked ourselves into the Mayfield Guest House for the Sunday night... we'd heard good reports from friends, and thought we'd give it a shot. It was a very good experience, and very economical. It is located just off the roundabout at Valley Road and...

Mayfield Guest House is well located close to the center of the city. Long but easy walk to the center. Very accommodating staff. We arranged for a very late dinner (10pm) since we had a late arrival. The staff took very good care of us. Rooms were comfortable and we had shared bathrooms. Food was good. The Mayfield seems to...

This place usually has room if you need something last minute so it's good for a pinch. Or if your in town just to recuperate or rest up it's not too bad. Some of the rooms are decent -some are cold, sparse, and noisy. None of the rooms have toilets/showers, all are shared affairs out in the halls somewhere. Although...
