Just across the road from the UN compound, reasonable prices and basic amenities. Good enough for official stay and even has apartments for long term at very reasonable prices. Apartments are difficult to get as they are ideal for couple of months for people without conveyance

The only reason to choose this hotel would be its close proximity to the UN complex. I felt like staying in a dormitory, very basic rooms with no effort whatsoever to make you feel comfortable - curtains falling down, cold floors, very noisy. Cleanliness was OK, but could not make up for the terrible atmosphere. The breakfast was a joke...

Stayed at China Gardens (hotel side) first week in November 2011. I was in Nairobi for a meeting at the UN Centre, Gigiri. Very convenient and right across the the UN complex. It takes about 2 minutes to walk to the main gate. It is not a 5star hotel BUT, the bed was comfortable, room was clean, water VERY hot...
