This was our first lodge ever in Africa and we were very lucky to choose it. Amasing location near the river with hippos snorting and wathogs running around. Beautifull spacious cottages well decorated. Great staff for service and activities they were so friendly and we were all playing in the main dining area with fire place. At night we had...

Malewa is not too far from Nairobi and it's a great place to visit at the beginning of a safari trip. My husband and I stayed here for a few days before heading to the Mara. We had a great time -- lovely place with animals everywhere. A few warthogs seem to frequent the area by the main lodge. They...

Very peaceful place not so far from Nairobi. Ideal for romantic weekend getaways for bush lovers. The rooms are quite comfortable and the food is lovely. The staff are very polite and knowledgeable. The highlight of our trip was the bush walk where we got upclose with nature. Amazing.

The team at Malewa are superb. Everything from the food to the excursions are meticulously organized and customized according to your requirements. We opted for an active vacation with hiking and biking excursions, which are a fantastic way to appreciate the wildlife. At the end of the day, we retired by the fireplace regaling in the experiences of the day....

I loved this place. Was traveling with Gate 1 Travel and they booked us here for one night. I wish we could have stayed longer. It was what I thought Africa would be. It was out in the bush. Loved the rooms and the showers we're quite unique. Dirt paths leading to your room screened windows and they have canvas...

We stayed here as part of a tour group and they managed to look after 18 of us really well. The staff were really helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The standard of cleanliness and the food were both really good. Lovely tender steaks for dinner and lovely soups. The game viewing around the area was great lots of...

Friendly, attentive staff, comfortable and creative "hut" housing and delicious food. Very picturesque location close to the river where hippo sightings are frequent. Plus the opportunity for afternoon game walks and/or a night game drive - both of which are only available in Kenya on private conservancy properties like this (not on national parks or reserves like Maasai Mara or...

My sons and I stayed here for two nights as a part of a 13-day Go-Ahead / Vintage Africa tour package. The funky rooms were enjoyable, the food great, and the staff exceptionally hospitable. The highlight of the stay was a two-hour nature walk led by our informative guide Peter in which we strolled with giraffes and many other animals...

What a great location, unique facilities, and wonderful staff! I will never forget it. The thatch roof lodging was so distinctive and the showers were hot. This was luxury safari camping. I really enjoyed the river, and being able to walk down and see the hippos in the water. What put this place over the top was the ability to...

We had a great weekend at this eco friendly lodge. The rooms are huge and well serviced. Very friendly management and staff who took care of us. Wake up to the singing of birds and the sound of the river. With no mobile connectivity or in room entertainment like tv, this is the perfect honeymoon destination... The food is good...

“Each room is unique and very large. Some have a deck overlooking the river -- great for hippo watching.”

“I checked out all of the huts, each is unique, all are great. There is one that has a terrific balcony view of the river. Our associates said the hippo noises kept them awake! how cool is that?”

“Most rooms are by the river, however not all are 'on' the river. If you want a room on the river, ask for Langalanga as this one is right on the edge of the river and in front a hippo pool.”

“Every cabin is well appointed and huge. There were a few along the river that looked bigger, for families in larger groups.”
