We stayed as our trip started from here. It was old and quite dated. The bed was ok but the showers and room really could do with a makeover. The hot water was a strange setup and should have been explained by the front desk. Dinner was purchased at the restaurant and was a little overpriced for what you got....

A dated and basic room that had a questionable lock on the door. We made the mistake of ordering dinner in the restaurant and had to wait for 2 hours until everyone got their meal. Front desk staff were not very helpful and internet was sporadic and slow running.

I found the Location ok and very close to Nairobi business district - which can be useful if one wants to beat the Nairobi rush hour traffic .The rooms are fairly spacious and ok albeit abit dated.I expected a mosquito net but none was provided. As for dinner we Couldn't get anything decent to eat and found it pretty restricted by...

I stayed here in 2011 and even though the rooms and property were the same the food was horrible. It was unidentifiable. What I ordered and what I got where not even close. Staff is very nice but not to helpful. I was on a Dragoman trip and the front desk did not post the very important info where it...

This was an affordable place for our small group of six to stay. We had 3 rooms among us and they were all located together. It is older construction with an aged, but working, lift. It is easy to imagine this place being a real gem in another era. Food and service were average/satisfactory. The bathrooms are in the guest...

The rooms were clean, comfortable and ideal for the short term stay i had. The shower system could be changed for the better. Don't count of WIFI, very dodgy and doesnt work in "all" areas. Elevator is noisy but it doesn't disturb you from the bedrooms. The food here is great, takes a little time ,but always remember "This is...

Stayed as part of a tour with Intrepid Travel. Good size room. Bed a bit firm. In response to previous posts it appears that all the locks have been renewed. 6 hours free WiFi. Food was good and reasonably priced as was the bar. Staff were friendly and efficient.

We stayed at the Kivi as the start of our Intrepid trip (as a lot of people have from reading other reviews). We didn't experience any of the problems that I had read about but we were also very careful. The hotel is quite old and needs a lot of work to bring it up to a reasonable standard.
