Certificate of Excellence
What is Certificate of Excellence?
TripAdvisor gives a Certificate of Excellence to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers.
The people, accommodation and wildlife were all we could have hoped for. Our guide was outstanding and we felt privileged to be shown his home. The long rains meant lots of animal families out and about, relaxed. We often had the whole Mara to ourselves....More
The staff was amazing! Our tour guides who were apart of the Masai Tribe they were extremely knowledgeable. They knew just about everything there is to know about the wildlife & culture - be sure to pick their brains and ask tons of questions. We...More
Recommend by Imagine Africa, my tried and tested travel agent, I took the opportunity to travel to the Mara out of season and stay at two of the Saruni Lodges. My criteria were animals first, location and setting second. I've been to many different safari...More
This was a beautiful experience for me and my family - 75 year old parents, middle aged me, and kids ages 6 and 9. We were so comfortable, the staff was wonderful, the food was amazing, the guides were excellent, and we very much appreciated...More
My beautiful new bride and I spent 5 days and 4 nights at the Saruni Mara property which exceeded every single expectation you could possibly have when visiting Africa for the first time. From the moment we landed in Nairobi Airport (from JFK, via DOH)...More

Hello John, thank you for your question. My name is Riccardo and I'm the owner and founder of Saruni. Saruni Mara is located in Mara North Conservancy and we have a second property, Saruni Wild, located in Lemek Conservancy. As you might know, the private conservancies in the Mara ecosystem offer amazing wildlife, low density of tourism, low impact, community-friendly and eco-friendly practices. If you see our tripadavisor reviews, you'll see that all guests staying at Saruni mara mention the amazing wildlife experienced that they have enjoyed. The quantity, variety and consistency of wildlife all over Mara North Conservancy - including the section of the conservancy where we are located - is something that never ceases to marvel our guests. I'm sure you are also aware that the Mara is a relatively small area (compared to the Serengeti for instance), which means that all sections of the Mara North Conservancy and all sections of the mara ecosystem are easily reached from wherever area you are based from. Mara North is really the jewel of the Mara and I suggest that you bring your friends to a private conservancy rather than the national reserve (even if the reserve is more "central" geographically). I was at Saruni mara two days ago and right in front of the lodge in a few hours I saw impala, elephant, waterbuck, zebra and a lion was roaring very close to Kuru House, our mess area. I mentioned Saruni Wild, our tented camp: it is located right in the heart of the ecosystem and the wildlife is always not more than a few meters away from our tents. I suggest you combine Saruni mara and Saruni Wild to achieve a fantastic result with your friends and I remain at your disposal to answer in more detail, share a couple of maps with you, share your safari experiences and give you a quote.

Thank you for your question. I thought I and replied, but I can't see here my reply. I was saying: if you are thinking of Saruni Samburu (we also have Saruni Mara and Saruni Ocean) then we could assign you villa number 1 that does not have any drop, but still has an amazing view. Your daughter would be totally safe in villa 1. We also would be happy to assign you a baby-sitter who can assist and he;p in case you want to go on safari and leave her behind for a few hours. Our team is very good with children: we love children, are used to children and have an amazing feedback form parents who bring children on safari, so please don't be worried. You can always email me to know more. best regards and we look forward to have you on safari with us, Riccardo
